Abstract

A sink mounting clip includes a plate has a first side, a second side, a first end, a second end, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge. The plate is comprised of a rigid material. The plate has a bend therein extending from the first lateral edge to the second lateral edge to define a first section including the first end a second section including the second end. The first section has a nub thereon extending away from a plane of the first section. The first section is driven into a notch in a back side of a countertop adjacent to a lip of a sink and the second section abutted against the lip such that the lip is held against the countertop. The nub frictionally engages the countertop when the nub is driven into the notch.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
I claim:

1 . A clip for mounting a sink in a countertop, said clip comprising:
a plate having a first side, a second side, a first end, a second end, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge, said plate being comprised of a rigid material, said plate having a bend therein extending from said first lateral edge to said second lateral edge to define a first section including said first end a second section including said second end; said first section having a nub thereon extending away from a plane of said first section; and wherein said first section is driven into a notch in a back side of a countertop adjacent to a lip of a sink and said second section abutted against the lip such that the lip is held against the countertop, said nub being configured to frictionally engage the countertop when said nub is driven into the notch.

2 . The clip according to claim 1 , wherein an angle in said first side formed by said bend is an acute angle and being less than 90° and greater than 60°.

3 . The clip according to claim 1 , wherein said nub extends away from said second side.

4 . The clip according to claim 3 , wherein said nub extends away from said first section a distance less than .50 cm.

5 . The clip according to claim 1 , wherein said nub extends away from said first section a distance less than .50 cm.

6 . The clip according to claim 1 , wherein said first section has a length from said bend to said first end being less than 2.50 cm.

7 . The clip according to claim 6 , wherein said second section has a length from said bend to said second end being less than 2.75 cm.

8 . The clip according to claim 1 , wherein a length of said second section is greater than a length of said first section.

9 . A clip for mounting a sink in a countertop, said clip comprising:
a plate having a first side, a second side, a first end, a second end, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge, said plate being comprised of a rigid material, said plate having a bend therein extending from said first lateral edge to said second lateral edge to define a first section including said first end a second section including said second end, an angle in said first side formed by said bend being an acute angle and being less than 90° and greater than 60°; said first section having a nub thereon extending away from a plane of said first section, said nub extending away from said second side, said nub extending away from said first section a distance less than .50 cm; said first section having a length from said bend to said first end being less than 2.50 cm, said second section having a length from said bend to said second end being less than 2.75 cm, said length of said second section being greater than said length of said first section; and wherein said first section is driven into a notch in a back side of a countertop adjacent to a lip of a sink and said second section abutted against the lip such that the lip is held against the countertop, said nub being configured to frictionally engage the countertop when said nub is driven into the notch.
