Claims

Abstract

An electronic clipboard with an optional associated remote personal unit worn by a player. The clipboard can include a flat electronic unit with an optionally writeable flat display. The associated unit can be a wrist or other unit with a small display worn by a player. A protective cover can be pulled over the display to protect it during play. Plays from a library of plays, or plays written on the electronic clipboard, can be transmitted by radio to the remote personal unit and displayed. The electronic coach's clipboard that could store and recall images of plays that the coach could carry or have immediately available. Optionally real-time game photographs can be displayed on the coach's electronic clipboard.

I claim: 
     
         1 . A sports electronic clipboard unit system comprising:
 a housing;   a display mounted on said housing;   a processor coupled to a memory, said processor and said memory contained in said housing, said memory containing at least one stored play, wherein said processor is adapted to display said stored play on said display;   said memory adapted to store a plurality of different plays for a plurality of different sports;   said display adapted so that a play can be drawn on the display with a stylus or pen;   said electronic clipboard unit adapted to receive wirelessly receive a play photograph taken from a remote camera and display the photograph on said display;   
     
     
         2 . The sports electronic clipboard unit system of  claim 1  wherein said electronic clipboard unit includes a wireless transmitter and a microphone adapted to allow a coach to wirelessly communicate a play to a player wearing a remote receiver unit unit. 
     
     
         3 . The sports electronic clipboard unit system of  claim 1  wherein said display is a touch screen. 
     
     
         4 . A combination electronic clipboard and remote wearable unit in radio communication with each other comprising a first display on said clipboard; a library of plays stored on said clipboard, and a second display on said wearable unit, wherein a coach can cause at least one of said plays to be displayed on said first display and on said second display. 
     
     
         5 . The combination electronic clipboard and remote wearable unit of  claim 5  wherein said coach can modify said play on said first display and then cause the modified play to be displayed on said remote wearable unit. 
     
     
         6 . The combination electronic clipboard and remote wearable unit of  claim 5  wherein said first display is a writeable display that can be written with a pen or stylus. 
     
     
         7 . The combination electronic clipboard and remote wearable unit of  claim 5  wherein said clipboard can display photographs communicated to it by radio from a remote camera. 
     
     
         8 . The combination electronic clipboard and remote wearable unit of  claim 5  wherein said first display can display parameters of a plurality of sports. 
     
     
         9 . The combination electronic clipboard and remote wearable unit of  claim 5  further comprising a microphone on said clipboard, whereby said coach can communicate verbally with a player.
