Abstract
A method for providing a graphical user interface (GUI) to receive a user command on a touch screen, and a multimedia apparatus using the same. The method for providing a GUI includes determining whether an enlargement command for a GUI item is received, and enlarging the GUI item. Therefore, it is possible to enable a user to operate the GUI item more correctly, and to provide the superior visual effect when the GUI item is operated.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 .- 29 . (canceled)
30 . A portable apparatus comprising:
a display unit; and a control unit to control the display unit to display a video image corresponding to video data, and a position indicator to provide a playback position on a bar, wherein the control unit is configured to operate either in a first shift mode or a second shift mode based on a duration of a stationary touch input applied on the position indicator, and to change the playback position based on a drag input for moving the position indicator, the drag input following the stationary touch input.
31 . The apparatus of claim 30 , wherein the duration of the stationary touch input is less than a predetermined time, the playback position is changed in the first shift mode and the duration of the stationary touch input is greater than a predetermined time, the playback position is changed in the second shift mode, and
wherein the playback position is adjustable more precisely in the second shift mode than in the first shift mode.
32 . The apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the position indicator is movable along the bar, and
wherein a shift amount of the playback position corresponding to a moving distance of the position indicator in the first shift mode is greater than the shift amount of the playback position corresponding to the moving distance of the position indicator in the second shift mode.
33 . The apparatus of claim 32 , wherein when the control unit operates in the second shift mode, a property of the bar is changed in a time resolution.
34 . The apparatus of claim 32 , wherein when the control unit operates in the second shift mode,
a playback duration represented by a determined length of the bar is changed from a first playback duration to a second playback duration, the second playback duration being shorter than the first playback duration.
35 . The apparatus of claim 34 , wherein the first playback duration corresponds to the entire video data and the second playback duration corresponds to a portion of the video data.
36 . The apparatus of claim 33 , wherein when the control unit operates in the second shift mode, a playback duration represented by a determined length of the bar is changed from a first playback duration to a second playback duration, the second playback duration being shorter than the first playback duration.
37 . The apparatus of claim 36 , wherein the first playback duration corresponds to the entire video data and the second playback duration corresponds to a portion of the video data.
38 . The apparatus of claim 32 , wherein the control unit operates in the second shift mode, the control unit controls the display unit to display a box type bar corresponding to a portion of the video data.
39 . The apparatus of claim 34 , wherein when a playback duration represented by a determined length of the bar is changed, the position indicator remains at a same location on the display unit as a location of the position indicator prior to the change.
40 . The apparatus of claim 36 , wherein when the property of the bar is changed, the position indicator remains at a same location on the display unit as a location of the position indicator prior to the change.
41 . The apparatus of claim 38 , wherein the box type bar is displayed on the bar so that the bar is not displayed while the box type bar is displayed.
42 . The apparatus of claim 41 , wherein a displayed length of the bar is the same as the displayed length of the box type bar.
43 . The apparatus of claim 30 , wherein the drag input comprises a successive touch in a direction of the bar.
44 . An electronic apparatus comprising:
a display unit; and a control unit to control the display unit to display a video image corresponding to video data in a first area of the display unit, wherein in response to a first touch input with the display unit while displaying the video image, the control unit controls the display unit to display a bar with a position indicator which is movable on the bar, displayed in a second area of the display unit, to provide a playback position of the video data, and in response to a second touch input including an initial touch and a drag input subsequent to the initial touch on the position indicator, the control unit changes the playback position either in a first shift mode or in a second shift mode based on a touch duration of the initial touch of the second touch input.
45 . The apparatus of claim 44 , wherein the playback position is adjustable more precisely in the second shift mode than in the first shift mode.
46 . The apparatus of claim 45 , wherein a shift amount of the playback position corresponding to a moving distance of the position indicator in the first shift mode is greater than a shift amount of the playback position corresponding to the moving distance of the position indicator in the second shift mode.
47 . The apparatus of claim 44 , wherein a shift amount of the playback position corresponding to a moving distance of the position indicator in the first shift mode is greater than a shift amount of the playback position corresponding to the moving distance of the position indicator in the second shift mode.
48 . The apparatus of claim 47 , wherein when the touch duration of the initial touch is greater than a predetermined time, a property of the bar is changed in a time resolution.
49 . The apparatus of claim 47 , wherein when the touch duration of the initial touch is greater than a predetermined time, a playback duration represented by a predetermined length of the bar is changed from a first playback duration to a second playback duration, the second playback duration being shorter than the first playback duration.
50 . The apparatus of claim 49 , wherein the first playback duration corresponds to the entire video data and the second playback duration corresponds to a portion of the video data.
51 . The apparatus of claim 48 , wherein when the property of the bar is changed, the position indicator remains at a same location on the display unit as a location of the position indicator prior to the change.
52 . The apparatus of claim 49 , wherein when the playback duration represented by the determined length of the bar is changed, the position indicator remains at a same location on the display unit as a location of the position indicator prior to the change.
53 . The apparatus of claim 44 , wherein in response to the first touch input while displaying the video image, the control unit controls the display unit to display at least one control item, displayed in a third area of the display unit, for controlling a playback operation of the video data.
54 . The apparatus of claim 53 , wherein at least a portion of the first area and the third area is overlapped.
55 . The apparatus of claim 54 , wherein the at least one control item displayed in the third area is displayed with a semi-transparent effect.
56 . The apparatus of claim 55 , wherein the first area is located in upper portion of the display unit and the third area is located in lower portion of the display unit.
57 . The apparatus of claim 56 , wherein the drag input comprises a successive touch in a direction of the bar.
58 . The apparatus of claim 56 , wherein the bar is not displayed until the first touch input is received.
59 . A portable apparatus comprising:
a display unit; and a control unit to control the display unit to display a video image corresponding to video data, and a position indicator to provide a playback position on a progress bar, wherein the control unit is configured to operate either in a normal shift mode or a fine shift mode based on a duration of a stationary touch input applied on the position indicator, and to change the playback position based on a touch drag input for moving the position indicator, the touch drag input following the stationary touch input, wherein when the duration of the stationary touch input is greater than a predetermined time, the control unit changes a property of the progress bar such that a playback duration represented by a determined length of the progress bar is changed from a first playback duration to a second playback duration, the second playback duration being shorter than the first playback duration, and wherein a shift amount of the playback position corresponding to a moving distance of the position indicator in a first shift mode is greater than a shift amount of the playback position corresponding to the moving distance of the position indicator in a second shift mode.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
