Presentation and analysis of docket information and financial information

Abstract

Aggregation, analysis, and presentation of financial and docket information in a common interface are described.

         19 . A method comprising:
 under control of one or more computing devices configured with executable instructions:   presenting a first graphic representing a scope of a claim of a patent or patent application at a time of a docket event;   accessing financial information corresponding to the time of the docket event;   presenting a second graphic in association with the first graphic, the second graphic including the financial information; and   associating the first and second graphics to inform a user of the scope of the claim relative to the financial information to determine whether the scope of the claim had an impact on the financial information, to form a recommendation to act.   
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 19 , wherein the financial information comprises a stock price of a company at the time of the docket event. 
     
     
         21 . The method of  claim 19 , wherein the docket event comprises issuance of a patent that includes the claim. 
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 19 , wherein the docket event comprises an event of a patent prosecution docket. 
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 19 , wherein the docket event comprises an event of a patent litigation docket. 
     
     
         24 . The method of  claim 19 , wherein the claim comprises a claim of a patent application. 
     
     
         25 . The method of  claim 19 , wherein the claim comprises a claim of a patent. 
     
     
         26 . One or more computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by one or more computing devices, configure the one or more computing devices to perform acts comprising:
 determining a scope of a claim of a patent or pending patent application, the patent or pending patent application being owned by a publicly traded company;   relating the scope of the claim to a stock price of the publicly traded company; and   forming a recommendation to act in a financial market for the stock based on the scope of the claim.   
     
     
         27 . The one or more computer-readable media of  claim 26 , wherein:
 determining the scope of the claim comprises determining the scope of the claim at a time of a docket event, and   relating the scope of the claim to the stock price comprises relating the scope of the claim at the time of the docket event to the stock price at the time of the docket event.   
     
     
         28 . The one or more computer-readable media of  claim 27 , wherein the docket event comprises issuance of a patent that includes the claim. 
     
     
         29 . The one or more computer-readable media of  claim 27 , wherein the docket event comprises an event of a patent prosecution docket. 
     
     
         30 . The one or more computer-readable media of  claim 27 , wherein the docket event comprises an event of a patent litigation docket. 
     
     
         31 . The one or more computer-readable media of  claim 26 , wherein the claim comprises a claim of a pending patent application. 
     
     
         32 . The one or more computer-readable media of  claim 26 , wherein the claim comprises a claim of an issued patent. 
     
     
         33 . A system comprising:
 a processing unit; and   memory communicatively coupled to the processing unit and storing one or more modules configured to:
 present a first graphic showing one or more docket events of a docket of a decision making governmental entity; 
 receive user selection of a docket event in the first graphic; and 
 present a second graphic showing a graphical representation of a scope of a claim in response to receiving the user selection of the docket event in the first graphic. 
   
     
     
         34 . The system of  claim 33 , wherein the one or more modules are further configured to change the graphical representation of the scope of the claim in the second graphic in response to receiving user selection of another docket event in the first graphic. 
     
     
         35 . The system of  claim 33 , wherein the one or more modules are further configured to present a third graphic that presents financial information pertaining to a company that owns a patent or patent application containing the claim. 
     
     
         36 . The system of  claim 33 , wherein the one or more modules are further configured to present a third graphic that presents a stock price of a company that owns a patent or patent application containing the claim, the stock price being approximate to a date of the docket event. 
     
     
         37 . The system of  claim 33 , wherein the claim comprises a claim of a pending patent application. 
     
     
         38 . The system of  claim 33 , wherein the claim comprises a claim of an issued patent.
