Method and system for creating and utilizing a metadata apparatus for management applications
Abstract
A method and system used to create a metadata apparatus that functions as a standard electronic language to both describe a complex item in precise detail and define data, objects, people and locations related to the item so as to provide a common secure platform and unlimited secondary meaningful use for products and systems that manage the item and related elements. The physical components of the apparatus include data centers, servers, desktop computers, mobile computing devices such as laptop computers, smart phones and computer tablets, and electronic devices in the field. For health care, the item is the human body. Examples of a device are machines used for medical imaging, laboratory analysis and patient surveillance such as EKGs, oximeters, respirators, etc.

3 . A system for organizing a plurality of defined words and phrases and a plurality of definitions into a multi-level collection of sets for use by outside computer software programs, comprising:
a first collection of sets that share a first set common theme, wherein the first collection of sets are located on a server or an external device, and wherein the first set common theme describes an element in or related to a health care industry, including a complex item, wherein said first set common theme is a Product Category and includes a Complex Item category, a People category, a Task category, a Facility category, a Material category, an Education category, a Reference category and a Research category, wherein a complex item of the Complex Item category is the human body and the Complex Item category is a Patient category, and; a second collection of sets that share a second set common theme, wherein the second collection of sets are located on the server or the external device, wherein the second set common theme describes a management function that uses one or more sets in the Product Category, one or more sets in more than one Product Category, or one or more sets in a Product Category as yet undefined, wherein said first collection of sets and said second collection of sets are Products, wherein each Product is an Organization or Company Product, a Quality Control product, a Credentials or Medical License Hospital Privilege (MLHP) product, a Performance product, a Reimbursement product and a chronological Health Record product.
4 . A system for supplying a plurality of words or short phrases and their definitions as metadata to a processor located on a server, comprising:
the processor located on the server, wherein said processor is adapted to label a plurality of outside electronic files with metadata comprising at least some of the words or short phrases of the plurality of words or short phrases and their definitions.
5 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the plurality of outside electronic files comprises an electronic file comprising an image, a video, a photograph, an illustration, an audio clip, text, or a combination thereof.
6 . A system for supplying a plurality of words or short phrases and their definitions as metadata to a processor located on a server, comprising:
a remote processor located remote from the server, but associated with the plurality of words or short phrases and their definitions that has been segregated from a core of the server, and integrated with a device so as to pre-label data generated from the device with appropriate metadata.
7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the device includes an imaging device, a laboratory device, an electronic patient monitoring device, an electronic patient testing device or any device used in the medical industry that generates electronic files.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
