System and method for trading multiple tradeable objects using a single trading interface
Abstract
A system and method are provided for displaying information related to a plurality of tradeable objects using a single graphical interface. One example graphical interface includes at least two screen regions displayed in relation to each other, with each region including a plurality of locations. Each location in the first screen region corresponds to a value along a first value axis, and each location in the second screen region corresponds to a value along a second value axis. The graphical interface also includes a first indicator in the first region and a second indicator in the second region. In response to a repositioning command based on an algorithm, the graphical interface includes a repositioned first value axis and the second value axis, such that the indicators are displayed in new locations determined based on the algorithm.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . (canceled)
2 . A computing device for use in an electronic trading environment, the computing device comprising:
an electronic output device configured to display a first plurality of value locations along a first value axis and a second plurality of value locations along a second value axis, each location along the first value axis corresponding to a price for a first tradeable object and each location along the second value axis corresponding to a price for a second tradeable object being different than the first tradeable object, where a first working order indicator for a first working order for the first tradeable object at an electronic exchange is displayed along the first value axis at a first location corresponding to a first price for the first working order; an input device coupled with the electronic output device and configured to receive a user command to move the first working order indicator from the first location to a new location along the second value axis; and an electronic processor coupled with the electronic output device and the input device and configured to submit a second working order for the second tradeable object to the electronic exchange in response to receiving the user command, where the second working order includes a second price and a product order parameter for the second order is determined according to the new location.
3 . The computing device of claim 2 where the output device is further configured to display a second working order indicator at a second location along the second value axis where the second location corresponds to the second price.
4 . The computing device of claim 2 where the second price for the second working order is determined based on the first price for the first working order.
5 . The computing device of claim 2 where the second price for the second working order is determined according to the new location where the first working order indicator was moved.
6 . The computing device of claim 2 where the second price for the second working order is determined according to an algorithm.
7 . The computing device of claim 2 where a second quantity for the second working order is determined according to a first quantity for the first working order.
8 . The computing device of claim 2 where a second quantity for the second working order is determined according to an algorithm.
9 . The computing device of claim 2 where a second quantity for the second working order is determined according to a default order quantity.
10 . The computing device of claim 2 where the user command comprises a drag-and-drop action.
11 . The computing device of claim 2 where the first working order is cancelled in response to the user command.
12 . The computing device of claim 2 where the first working order is not cancelled in response to the user command.
13 . The computing device of claim 2 where the second working order is linked to the first working order.
14 . The computing device of claim 2 where the first working order is linked with a first plurality of working orders for the first tradeable object.
15 . The computing device of claim 14 where the second working order is linked with a second plurality of orders for the second tradeable object placed at the electronic exchange.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
