Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
- 10 . (canceled)

. A cosmetic or dermatological composition for increasing the appearance of melanin in mammalian skin or hair, comprising a melanin increasing-effective amount of at least one inhibitor of DHHC 2, 3, 7, 15, 6, 11, 17, 21, or 22, in a cosmetically or dermatologically acceptable vehicle.

. The cosmetic or dermatological composition of claim 11 wherein the at least one inhibitor is 2 -BP.

. A cosmetic or dermatological composition for reducing the appearance of melanin in mammalian skin or hair, comprising a melanin reducing-effect amount of at least one inhibitor of PPT in a cosmetically or dermatologically acceptable vehicle.

. The cosmetic or dermatological composition according to claim 13 wherein the at least one inhibitor of PPT comprises at least one peptide containing at least one palmitoylated amino acid.

. The cosmetic or dermatological composition according to claim 14 wherein the at least one inhibitor of PPT comprises PP1.

. The cosmetic or dermatological composition according to claim 14 wherein the at least one inhibitor of PPT comprises PP2.

. A cosmetic or dermatological composition for reducing the appearance of melanin in mammalian skin or hair comprising a melanin reducing-effective amount of at least one palmitoylated peptide in a cosmetically or dermatologically acceptable vehicle, and an additional whitening active.

. A cosmetic or dermatological composition for reducing the appearance of melanin in mammalian skin or hair comprising a melanin reducing-effective amount of at least one palmitoylated peptide that comprises PP1, in a cosmetically or dermatologically acceptable vehicle.

. A cosmetic or dermatological composition for reducing the appearance of melanin in mammalian skin or hair comprising a melanin reducing-effective amount of at least one palmitoylated peptide that comprises PP2, in a cosmetically or dermatologically acceptable vehicle.

. (canceled)
