Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
We claim:

1 . A container for dispensing edible contents comprising:
a first container portion, having a opening to access the contents of the container at a top, a side wall that has inner surface and an outer surface and at least one opening through the side wall and a bottom; a second container portion having a bottom, the second container portion encompassed by the first container portion and configured to move between a first position and a second position; and a tab coupled at least to the second container portion and projecting through the at least one opening of the side wall of the first container, wherein the tab is accessible from the outside of the container, and wherein the tab is used to move the second container.

2 . The container of claim 1 , further comprising a second opening in the first container for receiving at least a second tab that is coupled to the second container portion.

3 . The container of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of openings in the side wall of the first container for receiving a plurality of tabs coupled at least to the second container portion.

4 . The container of claim 1 , further comprising a rotation tab, where in the ration tab is rotatable relative to the first container.

5 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the second position is an elevated position.

6 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the first container opening is sized for at least a portion of a user's hand to be inserted to access the contents.

7 . The container of claim 1 , further comprising a cover, enclosing the opening in the bottom of the first container portion.

8 . The container of claim 1 , the cover further comprising, a cover side portion configured to enclose the at least one slot.

9 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the first container has a first height and the second container has a second height, wherein the first container height is at least about one and one half times the second height of the second container.

10 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the at least one opening extends from the bottom of the first container toward the top of the first container a first distance and wherein the first distance is less than the height of the second container.

11 . The container of claim 10 , wherein the at least one opening is configured at an angle, such that they spiral up the side of the first container, relative to the top of the container.

12 . The container of claim 1 , wherein the at least one opening is configured at an angle such that the opening forms an elongated slot extending from the bottom of the first container towards the top of the container.

13 . The container of claim 3 , further comprising a ring coupled to the tabs, the ring at least partially circumscribing the outside of the first container.

14 . The container of claim 1 , further comprising an access to the at least one opening, the access in the bottom of the first container and communicating with the at least one opening.

15 . The container of claim 12 , wherein the access is configured slightly smaller in width than the tab.

16 . A method of dispensing contents from a container, the container having an outer container, an inner container and a ring which is coupled to the inner container through the outer container, comprising the steps:
opening the container by removing a cover to expose the contents of the container; removing a portion of the contents; and twisting an outer ring to raise the contents supported in the second inner container, elevating the contents so that they are accessible from the top of the container.

17 . A container for dispensing edible contents comprising:
a first container, having a opening sized for hand insertion to access the contents of the container, the container having a top and a bottom, and inner surface and an outer surface; a second container portion encompassed by the first container portion and configured to move between the top and the bottom, elevating the contents; and an actuator coupled at least to the second container portion and accessible outside the first container; the actuator rotatable relative to the first container to move the second container between the top and bottom positions.

18 . A container for dispensing edible dip comprising:
a container, having a opening for hand insertion to access the dip, the container having a top, a bottom and sides; a movable bottom encompassed by the container and configured to move between the top and the bottom, elevating the dip; and an actuator rotationally coupled at least to the movable bottom.

19 . A container for dispensing edible contents comprising:
a first container portion, having a opening to access the contents of the container at a top, a side wall that has inner surface and an outer surface and at least one opening through the side wall, having a first inner wall surface and a bottom; a second container portion having a bottom, the second container portion encompassed by the first container portion and configured to move between a first position and a second position, the second container having an second inner wall surface; and a first indicia marked on the first inner wall surface of the first container, the first indicia vertically positioned a first distance from the top of the container.

20 . The container of claim 19 , wherein the bottom of the first indicia corresponds to a predetermined maximum reach-in distance.
