Angled rotating merry go round
Abstract
An angled rotating play device is provided as a cantileveredly merry-go-round supported above the ground from below. A foot platform provides a location for one or more riders feet along a first rotation axis and is angled at an acute angle relative to a vertical axis. The vertical axis may also provide a second rotation axis. At least one of a plurality of supports connect to at least one hand hold above the foot platform whereby the hand hold and/or covers over the hand hold provide a maximum elevation of the device and may help users to shift their weight to self drive the device from the device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed:
1 . An angled rotating play device comprising:
a hub cantileveredly supported from below, said hub defining a rotation axis that is angled at an acute angle between about one degree and thirty degrees relative to a vertical axis; an assembly connected to the hub, the assembly comprising a foot platform and a hand hold device; the assembly being rotatable about the rotation axis; wherein the angled rotating play device is configured so that one or more users can stand on the foot platform, hold onto the hand hold device, and shift their body weight toward and away from the rotation axis to make the assembly rotate in a self-sustaining manner.
2 . The angled rotating play device of claim 1 , wherein the hand hold device comprises a ring.
3 . The angled rotating play device of claim 2 , wherein the ring is supported by one or more supports, the one or more supports extending from the foot platform to the ring.
4 . The angled rotating play device of claim 3 , wherein the one or more supports are located near a perimeter of the foot platform.
5 . The angled rotating play device of claim 4 , wherein the one or more supports pass through cutouts in the foot platform.
6 . The angled rotating play device of claim 3 , wherein the one or more supports comprises three supports equidistantly spaced from one another at the foot platform.
7 . The angled rotating play device of claim 2 , wherein the hand hold device further comprises one or more covers.
8 . The angled rotating play device of claim 7 , wherein the one or more covers define hand hold segments of the ring.
9 . The angled rotating play device of claim 1 , wherein the hand hold device comprises one or more portions of a ring.
10 . The angled rotating play device of claim 1 , wherein the acute angle is between about one degree and ten degrees relative to the vertical axis.
11 . The angled rotating device of claim 1 , wherein the assembly is also rotatable about the vertical axis.
12 . The angled rotating device of claim 1 , wherein the hub has an internal bearing assembly connected to a head, and the head is coupled to a post extending vertically from a playing surface.
13 . The angled rotating device of claim 12 , wherein the head is configured to rotate relative to the post about the vertical axis.
14 . The angled rotating device of claim 1 , wherein the hub is connected to a mounting bracket comprising a head and a body, and the mounting bracket is connected to a post extending from a playing surface.
15 . The angled rotating device of claim 14 , wherein the mounting bracket is configured to rotate relative to the post about the vertical axis.
16 . The angled rotating device of claim 15 , wherein the body has an internal bearing assembly connected to the post.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
