Compositions and methods of use for mgd-csf in disease treatment
Abstract
Disclosed is a newly identified secreted molecule, identified herein as “monocyte, granulocyte, and dendritic cell colony stimulating factor” (MGD-CSF), the polypeptide sequence, and polynucleotides encoding the polypeptide sequence. Also provided is a procedure for producing the polypeptide by recombinant techniques employing, for example, vectors and host cells. Additionally, procedures are described to modify the disclosed novel molecules of the invention to prepare fusion molecules. Also disclosed are methods for using the polypeptides and active fragments thereof for treatment of a variety of diseases, including, for example, cancer, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, infectious diseases, and recurrent pregnancy loss.

2 . A method of inhibiting cell proliferation comprising contacting a cell with an antibody that specifically binds a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence selected from SEQ ID NOs: 7, 8, and 9.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the antibody specifically binds a polypeptide consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9.
4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the cell is a hematopoietic cell.
5 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the cell is a monocyte.
6 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the antibody is selected from a monoclonal antibody, a polyclonal antibody, a single chain antibody, and an antigen binding fragment thereof.
7 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the cell is in a subject.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the method comprises administering to the subject the antibody that specifically binds a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence selected from SEQ ID NOs: 7, 8, and 9.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the antibody specifically binds a polypeptide consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9.
10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the method is a method of treating a proliferative disorder in the subject.
11 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the cell is a hematopoietic cell.
12 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the cell is a monocyte.
13 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the proliferative disorder is cancer.
14 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the antibody is selected from a monoclonal antibody, a polyclonal antibody, a single chain antibody, and an antigen binding fragment thereof.
15 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the antibody is a monoclonal antibody.
16 . A method of treating an autoimmune disease or an inflammatory disease in a subject, comprising administering to the subject an antibody that specifically binds a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence selected from SEQ ID NOs: 7, 8, and 9.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the antibody specifically binds a polypeptide consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9.
18 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the autoimmune disease is selected from multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and systemic lupus erythematosus.
19 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the antibody is selected from a monoclonal antibody, a polyclonal antibody, a single chain antibody, and an antigen binding fragment thereof.
