Abstract

A mobile communication device is equipped with hardware and/or software components to enable the device to output a data in a form of a radio frequency signal, emulating outputting of the data by either an active or a passive RFID transponder. The data may be a security key or an identifier. Emulation of an active RFID transponder includes facilitating selection of the data and instruction to output by a user. Emulation of a passive RFID transponder includes detecting for proximal presence of a RFID reader. Either case, provision of the data to the mobile communication device may include provision of associated signal attribute(s).

         61 . A mobile communications device comprising:
 a user interface;   communication circuitry configured to provide RFID communications and to provide voice call communications; and   a control system associated with the user interface and with the communication circuitry, wherein the control system is configured to:   display a first screen prompting a user to select from multiple displayed RFID names.   
     
     
         62 . The mobile communications device of  claim 61 , wherein the control system is further configured to receive a command from the user selecting one of the multiple displayed RFID names as a default RFID name. 
     
     
         63 . The mobile communications device of  claim 61 , wherein the control system is further configured to transmit an RFID number associated with the selected RFID name. 
     
     
         64 . The mobile communications device of  claim 61 , wherein the control system is further configured to:
 receive a probing signal from an RFID reader; and   transmit an RFID number associated with the default RFID name in response to the probing signal.   
     
     
         65 . The mobile communications device of  claim 61 , wherein the multiple displayed RFID names include a first payment card name and a second payment card name. 
     
     
         66 . The mobile communications device of  claim 65 , wherein the control system is further configured to prompt the user to add an additional payment card name. 
     
     
         67 . The mobile communications device of  claim 66 , wherein the control system is further configured to prompt the user to enter an RFID number. 
     
     
         68 . The mobile communications device of  claim 67 , wherein the control system is further configured to prompt the user to enter additional information, and associate the additional information with the entered RFID number. 
     
     
         69 . The mobile communications device of  claim 61 , wherein the control system is further configured to prompt the user to add an additional RFID name. 
     
     
         70 . The mobile communications device of  claim 69 , wherein the control system is further configured to prompt the user to enter an RFID number.

 prompt the user to enter additional information, and associate the additional information with the entered RFID number.   
     
     
         72 . The mobile communications device of  claim 70 , wherein the entered RFID number and additional information are associated with the additional RFID name. 
     
     
         73 . A mobile communications device comprising:
 a user interface;   communication circuitry configured to provide RFID communications and to provide voice call communications; and   a control system associated with the user interface and with the communication circuitry, wherein the control system is configured to:   display a first screen prompting a user to select from multiple RFID names;   receive a selection of a first RFID name from the multiple RFID names; and   transmit a first RFID number associated with the first RFID name.   
     
     
         74 . The mobile communications device of  claim 73 , wherein the displaying the first screen is performed in response to receiving a probing signal. 
     
     
         75 . The mobile communications device of  claim 73 , wherein the control system is further configured to:
 receive a probing signal after receiving the selection of the first RFID name; and   transmit the first RFID number associated with the first RFID name in response to receiving the probing signal.   
     
     
         76 . The mobile communications device of  claim 73 , wherein the control system is further configured to:
 receive a selection of a second RFID name from the multiple RFID names; and   transmit a second RFID number associated with the second RFID name.   
     
     
         77 . The mobile communications device of  claim 76 , wherein displaying the first screen is performed in response to receiving a probing signal. 
     
     
         78 . The mobile communications device of  claim 76 , wherein the control system is further configured to:
 receive a probing signal after selection of the first RFID name and the second RFID name; and   transmit the first RFID number and the second RFID number in response to receiving the probing signal.   
     
     
         79 . A mobile communications device comprising:
 a user interface;   communication circuitry configured to provide RFID communications and to provide voice call communications; and   a control system associated with the user interface and with the communication circuitry, wherein the control system is configured to:
 display at least a first RFID name; 
 receive a command selecting the first RFID name as a default RFID name; 
 receive a first RFID signal; and 
 transmit an RFID number associated with the default RFID name. 
   
     
     
         80 . The mobile communications device of  claim 79 , wherein the displayed at least the first RFID name is displayed from multiple RFID names. 
     
     
         81 . The mobile communications device of  claim 79 , wherein transmitting the RFID number is performed in response to receiving the first RFID signal. 
     
     
         82 . The mobile communications device of  claim 79 , wherein the first RFID signal is a probing signal from an RFID reader. 
     
     
         83 . The mobile communications device of  claim 79 , wherein the first RFID signal is a payment request signal. 
     
     
         84 . The mobile communications device of  claim 79 , wherein the control system is further configured to transmit additional information associated with the default RFID name. 
     
     
         85 . A mobile communications device comprising:
 a user interface;   communication circuitry configured to provide RFID communications and to provide voice call communications; and   a control system associated with the user interface and with the communication circuitry, wherein the control system is configured to:
 display multiple RFID names, 
 receive a command selecting a default RFID name from the multiple RFID names; and 
 transmit an RFID number that is associated with the default RFID name. 
   
     
     
         86 . The mobile communications device of  claim 85 , wherein the transmitting the RFID number occurs in response to receiving a transmit command from a user. 
     
     
         87 . The mobile communications device of  claim 85 , wherein the transmitting occurs at predetermined intervals. 
     
     
         88 . The mobile communications device of  claim 87 , wherein the transmitting is performed at the predetermined intervals without requiring any additional transmit commands from a user. 
     
     
         89 . The mobile communications device of  claim 85 , wherein the control system is further configured to transmit additional information associated with the default RFID name.
