Abstract
A digital residential entertainment system uses a data switch with dedicated ports. Each one of the dedicated ports may receive a different input or route a different output. As different content items are stored within the digital residential entertainment system, each one of the different content items is associated to a different row in a data table. Each different row thus stores data fields that differentiate one content item from another content item.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A system, comprising:
a processor; and memory storing instructions that when executed cause the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising: storing a plurality of content items in the memory; storing a single data record that corresponds to one content item in the plurality of content items, the single data record being one row in a data table, the data table having a different row for each other content item in the plurality of content items, the row having a plurality of data fields, the plurality of data fields comprising information that differentiates the one content item from the each other content item in the plurality of content items.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise decrypting the one content item for presentation.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise receiving an information signal from one of multiple pairs of a tuner and a demodulator.
4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the operations further comprise instructing a data switch to select a port that corresponds to the one of multiple pairs of a tuner and a demodulator.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise instructing a tuner to tune to a frequency.
6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the operations further comprise instructing a data switch to select a port that corresponds to the tuner.
7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:
receiving a storage position identifier from a source remote from the system; and storing the storage position identifier in the one row as one field in the plurality of data fields, the storage position identifier specifying a storage position for the one content item in a lineup of different content items.
8 . A method, comprising:
storing, in memory, a plurality of content items; associating, by a processor, a single data record to one content item in the plurality of content items, the single data record being one row in a data table, the data table having a different row for each other content item in the plurality of content items; and storing information associated with the one content item in a plurality of data fields within the one row, the information differentiating the one content item from the each other content item in the plurality of content items.
9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising decrypting the one content item for presentation.
10 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising receiving an information signal from one of multiple pairs of a tuner and a demodulator.
11 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising instructing a data switch to select a port that corresponds to the one of multiple pairs of a tuner and a demodulator.
12 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising instructing a tuner to tune to a frequency.
13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising instructing a data switch to select a port that corresponds to the tuner.
14 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
receiving a storage position identifier from a remote source; and storing the storage position identifier in the one row as one field in the plurality of data fields, the storage position identifier specifying a storage position for the one content item in a lineup of different content items.
15 . A memory storing code which when executed causes a processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:
storing a plurality of content items in the memory; storing a single data record that corresponds to one content item in the plurality of content items, the single data record being one row in a data table, the data table having a different row for each other content item in the plurality of content items, the row having a plurality of data fields, the plurality of data fields comprising information that differentiates the one content item from the each other content item in the plurality of content items.
16 . The memory of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise decrypting the one content item for presentation.
17 . The memory of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise receiving an information signal from one of multiple pairs of a tuner and a demodulator.
18 . The memory of claim 17 , wherein the operations further comprise instructing a data switch to select a port that corresponds to the one of multiple pairs of a tuner and a demodulator.
19 . The memory of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise:
instructing a tuner to tune to a frequency; and instructing a data switch to select a port that corresponds to the tuner.
20 . The memory of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise:
receiving a storage position identifier from a remote source; and storing the storage position identifier in the one row as one field in the plurality of data fields, the storage position identifier specifying a storage position for the one content item in a lineup of different content items.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
