Abstract

A method for treating or preventing a T-cell-mediated autoimmune disease is provided herein, the method including administering to a mammal in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of soluble CD137 or CD137 pos regulatory T cells. Also provided are pharmaceutical compositions for treating or preventing T-cell-mediated autoimmune diseases, the pharmaceutical compositions including a therapeutically effective amount of soluble CD137 or CD137 pos regulatory T cells and a pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier.

         13 . A pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of a T-cell-mediated autoimmune disease comprising:
 a therapeutically effective amount of soluble CD137; and   a pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier.   
     
     
         14 . The pharmaceutical composition of  claim 13 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is in the form of an injectable suspension. 
     
     
         15 . The pharmaceutical composition of  claim 13 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is administered intravenously. 
     
     
         16 . The pharmaceutical composition of  claim 13 , wherein the T-cell-mediated autoimmune disease is selected from the group consisting of type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
