Abstract

The present invention provides a method for producing an L-amino acid from ethanol using a bacterium of the Enterobacteriaceae family, wherein the bacterium has been modified to enhance the expression of the ydbK gene.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
We claim:

1 . A bacterium of the Enterobacteriaceae family which produces L-threonine or L-valine, wherein said bacterium has been modified to enhance the expression of the ydbK gene.

2 . The bacterium according to claim 1 , wherein said expression is enhanced by modifying an expression control sequence of the ydbK gene or by increasing the copy number of the ydbK gene.

3 . The bacterium according to claim 1 , wherein said bacterium belongs to the genus Escherichia.

4 . The bacterium according to claim 1 , wherein said bacterium belongs to the genus Pantoea.
