Abstract

A hair clip includes a lower body with a lower jaw, a lower joint, and a lower finger grip structure. An upper body includes an upper jaw, a first upper joint, a second upper joint, and an upper finger grip structure, where the first upper joint is rotatably coupled to the lower joint by a primary hinge pin which secures the primary spring in place. A secondary body includes a secondary jaw and a secondary joint, and an upward curved edge, where the secondary joint is rotatably coupled to the second upper joint by a secondary hinge pin which secures the secondary spring in place. A primary spring couples to the lower body and the upper body, where the primary spring is configured to push the upper jaw towards the lower jaw. A secondary spring couples to the upper body and the secondary body, where the secondary spring is configured to push the secondary jaw towards the upper jaw. The upward curved edge located on the secondary body allows the user to slide a section or multiple sections of hair in and out of the secondary jaw and the upper jaw without the need of a second set of finger grip structures. This allows the user to slide multiple sections of hair in and out of the secondary jaw and upper jaw with the use of only one hand to manipulate the hair thru the opening between the upward curved edge and the upper jaw creating pressure which will open the secondary jaw and the upper jaw. There is not a second set of finger grip structures needed to do this which will free one hand for the user and save valuable time.

Claims

What is claimed is:

         1 . A hair clip comprising:
a lower body with a lower jaw, a lower joint, and a lower handle; an upper body with an upper jaw, a first upper joint, a second upper joint, and an upper handle, wherein said first upper joint is coupled to said lower joint, and wherein a primary spring force is configured to push said upper jaw towards said lower jaw; and a secondary body with a secondary jaw and a secondary joint, wherein said secondary joint is coupled to said second upper joint, and wherein a secondary spring force is configured to push said secondary jaw towards said upper jaw.

2 . The hair clip of claim 1 , additionally comprising a primary spring which creates said primary spring force, wherein said upper joint is rotatably coupled to said lower joint.

3 . The hair clip of claim 1 , additionally comprising a secondary spring which creates said secondary spring force, wherein said secondary joint is rotatably coupled to said second upper joint.

4 . The hair clip of claim 1 , additionally comprising a secondary spring coupled to said upper body and said secondary body.

5 . The hair clip of claim 1 , wherein said first upper joint and said lower joint comprise a spring material.

6 . The hair clip of claim 1 , wherein said secondary joint and said second upper joint comprise a spring material.

7 . The hair clip of claim 1 , wherein said secondary joint is located on an end of said upper jaw near said upper handle and said secondary jaw extends away from said upper handle.

8 . The hair clip of claim 1 , wherein said secondary joint is located on an opposite end of said upper jaw from said upper handle and said secondary jaw extends towards said upper handle.

9 . The hair clip of claim 1 , wherein said secondary body is located relative to said upper body opposite of said lower body.

10 . The hair clip of claim 1 , wherein said secondary body is located relative to said upper body substantially perpendicular of said lower body.

11 . The hair clip of claim 1 , wherein said secondary jaw has an S-shape.

         12 . A hair clip comprising:
a lower body with a lower jaw, a lower joint, and a lower handle; an upper body with an upper jaw, a first upper joint, a second upper joint, and an upper handle, wherein said first upper joint is rotatably coupled to said lower joint; a secondary body with a secondary jaw and a secondary joint, wherein said secondary joint is rotatably coupled to said second upper joint; a primary spring coupled to said lower body and said upper body, wherein said primary spring is configured to push said upper jaw towards said lower jaw; and secondary spring coupled to said upper body and said secondary body, wherein said secondary spring is configured to push said secondary jaw towards said upper jaw.

13 . The hair clip of claim 12 , wherein said secondary joint is located on an end of said upper jaw near said upper handle and said secondary jaw extends away from said upper handle.

14 . The hair clip of claim 12 , wherein said secondary joint is located on an opposite end of said upper jaw from said upper handle and said secondary jaw extends towards said upper handle.

15 . The hair clip of claim 12 , wherein said secondary body is located relative to said upper body opposite of said lower body.

16 . The hair clip of claim 12 , wherein said secondary body is located relative to said upper body substantially perpendicular of said lower body.

17 . The hair clip of claim 12 , wherein said secondary jaw has an S-shape.
