Abstract
A method and system for enhancing user engagement during wellness program interaction are disclosed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for enhancing user engagement during wellness program interaction, comprising:
gathering human emotion data and/or physiological data and/or direct inputs and/or indirect inputs from the user; comparing the gathered data to previously obtained data on human emotion and/or physiology and/or direct inputs and/or indirect inputs to determine user engagement; and modifying the content of the wellness program interaction in response to the determined user engagement.
2 . A system for enhancing user engagement during wellness program interaction, comprising:
a controller comprising a processor and a storage medium for digital data; an input device suitable for receiving input from a user; an output device for displaying content in a human readable medium; and executable software stored on a storage medium for digital data and executable on demand, the executable software operative with the processor to cause the system to: present health related content to a user, collect emotional data; physiological data; direct inputs and/or indirect inputs; execute a first rules engine containing rules, wherein the first rules engine analyzes in real time one or more emotional data; physiological data; direct inputs and/or indirect inputs; whereby the first rules engine selects, based on the one or more emotional data; physiological data; direct inputs and/or indirect inputs, modified content; and wherein modified content is provided to the user via the output device.
3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the input device is a camera to capture an image of the user, and wherein the processor analyzes the image to determine a level of engagement of the user.
4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein one or more psychophysiological responses of the user are analyzed.

The system of claim 4 , wherein the one or more psychophysiological responses is facial expression, and wherein whether a brow is furrowed is determined to indicate an angry mood, an upset mood, or an intensity of a mood, whether the brow is unfurrowed is determined to indicate a neutral mood, a content mood, or a mood of lesser intensity, and a user's mouth features are analyzed to determine if the user is smiling, frowning, angry, experiencing an intense mood, or experiencing a neutral mood.
6 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the one or more psychophysiological responses is facial expression, and wherein analyzing the facial expression includes identifying a change in a location of a facial feature, and using the change in the location to determine user engagement.
7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein analyzing the change in the location of the facial feature includes determining that a brow, a wrinkle, a dimple, a hairline, an ear, a nose, a mouth, or a chin is located in a different location.

The system of claim 3 , wherein analyzing the image to determine user engagement includes: comparing current information related to a current image with previous information related to a previous image; identifying a differential describing how the current information differs from the previous information; and using the differential to determine user engagement.
9 . The system of claim 3 , wherein analyzing the image to determine user engagement includes: identifying a level of user movement, and using the user movement to determine user engagement.
10 . The system of claim 3 , further comprising: determining that the modified content did not provide the desired engagement, and adjusting the modified content to increase user engagement.
11 . The system of claim 2 , further comprising: enrolling the user in a training regimen to determine a user profile for the user; and using the user profile to determine the actual engagement for the user.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein enrolling the user in the training regimen includes associating one or more facial expressions of the user with one or more levels of engagement.
13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein enrolling the user in the training regimen includes evaluating user's emotional data and/or physiological data and/or direct input and/or indirect input.
14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein evaluating the user response to the one or more selections of content includes: generating perceivable output for a first content selection; presenting an image of the user captured in response to the generation of the perceivable output; and prompting the user to specify the actual engagement as depicted in the image.
15 . The method of claim 1 , wherein physical parameters of the user are determined during the wellness program interaction.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the physical parameters are selected from the group consisting of skin biophysical measures, heart rate, blood pressure and temperature.
17 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the gathering of direct input is capturing an image of the user and analyzing the image to determine a level of engagement of the user.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the captured image is facial expression, and wherein whether a brow is furrowed is determined to indicate an angry mood, an upset mood, or an intensity of a mood, whether the brow is unfurrowed is determined to indicate a neutral mood, a content mood, or a mood of lesser intensity, and a user's mouth features are analyzed to determine if the user is smiling, frowning, angry, experiencing an intense mood, or experiencing a neutral mood.
19 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the gathered data is physiological data selected from the group consisting of skin biophysical measures, heart rate, blood pressure and temperature.
20 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the steps of gathering data, comparing the data to determine engagement and modifying the content are performed sequentially.
21 . The method of claim 20 , wherein the steps of gathering data, comparing the data to determine engagement and modifying the content are repeated at least two times.
22 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the previously obtained data is obtained from the user or a database of other users.
23 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the gathered data is an indirect input selected from the group consisting of the user's consumer purchasing behavior, changes in the user's buying behavior; m the user's digital social network activity, _membership in support groups and membership in and use of community groups and social organizations.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
