Information processing apparatus, information processing method, information processing program and recording medium for storing the program

Abstract

Disclosed herein is an information processing apparatus capable of exchanging information with another apparatus. The apparatus includes: a unit for carrying out a communication with the other apparatus; a unit for acquiring information on a state of a communication with the other apparatus carried out by the communication unit; and a unit for determining image information for a user owning the other apparatus based on the information acquired by the communication-state information acquisition unit and determining an array including the image information. The apparatus further includes: a unit for generating a display image including the image information based on the array; and a unit for displaying the display image.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An information storage system comprising:
 circuitry configured to
 store user identification information of a plurality of users; 
 receive, from at least one user of the plurality of users, a plurality of playlists each indicating a plurality of content data; 
 identify a plurality of playlists of a selected user selected from among the plurality of users and generate data for display of a list of the plurality of playlists of the selected user together with a name of the selected user; and 
 obtain information of the plurality of the content data in a selected playlist and generate data for display of a list of information of the plurality of the content data in the selected playlist, when one playlist of the plurality of playlists is selected from the list of the plurality of playlists as the selected playlist. 
   
     
     
         2 . The information storage system of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of playlists is disclosed to other users of the plurality of users from which the plurality of playlists did not originate. 
     
     
         3 . The information storage system of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of playlists are broadcasted to other users of the plurality of users from which the plurality of playlists did not originate. 
     
     
         4 . The information storage system of  claim 1 , wherein the circuitry is further configured to receive from each user of the plurality of users, via a network, respective user identification information including image data representing the respective user and a user ID with a set profile, and to register the plurality of users based on the received respective user identification information. 
     
     
         5 . A method comprising:
 storing user identification information of a plurality of users;   receiving, from at least one user of the plurality of users, a plurality of playlists each indicating a plurality of content data;   identifying a plurality of playlists of a selected user selected from among the plurality of users;   generating data for display of a list of the plurality of playlists of the selected user together with a name of the selected user; and   obtaining information of the plurality of the content data in a selected playlist and generating data for display of a list of information of the plurality of the content data in the selected playlist, when one playlist of the plurality of playlists is selected from the list of the plurality of playlists as the selected playlist.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the plurality of playlists is disclosed to other users of the plurality of users from which the plurality of playlists did not originate. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the plurality of playlists are broadcasted to other users of the plurality of users from which the plurality of playlists did not originate. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 receiving from each user of the plurality of users, via a network, respective user identification information including image data representing the respective user and a user ID with a set profile; and   registering the plurality of users based on the received respective user identification information.   
     
     
         9 . An information processing terminal comprising:
 a circuitry configured to
 store user identification information associated with a user and at least one playlist associated with the user and which indicates a plurality of content data; 
 transmit, via a network, the user identification information and the playlist both associated with the user; 
 receive, via the network, user identification information of other users and at least one playlist associated with and created by at least one of the other users and which indicates a plurality of content data; 
 generate display data of the at least one playlist associated with the at least one of the other users; 
 provide a user interface for selecting a target user from among the other users and for selecting a desired playlist from among playlists associated with the selected target user; 
 retrieve, via the network, a plurality of playlists created by the selected target user and generate data for display of a list of the plurality of playlists created by the selected target user, based on a selection of one of the other users through the user interface as the selected target user; and 
 retrieve, via the network, information of a plurality of the content data associated with a selected playlist and generate data for display of a list of information of the plurality of the content data associated with the selected playlist, based on a selection of one of the plurality of playlists created by the selected target user as the selected playlist. 
   
     
     
         10 . The information processing terminal of  claim 9 , wherein when one of the content data is selected, musical content is received in a streaming reproduction process via the network. 
     
     
         11 . The information processing terminal of  claim 10 , wherein information of the received musical content data is displayed through the user interface. 
     
     
         12 . The information processing terminal of  claim 11 , wherein the information of the received musical content data comprises a title of an album, a thumbnail image of a jacket of the album, and a name of an artist of the album. 
     
     
         13 . The information processing terminal of  claim 9 , wherein the circuitry is further configured to execute software applications. 
     
     
         14 . The information processing terminal of  claim 13 , wherein the software applications comprises at least one of a web browser application and an audio player application. 
     
     
         15 . The information processing terminal of  claim 9 , wherein the user identification information of the other users comprises a respective user ID with a set profile, and a respective image data representing the user. 
     
     
         16 . The information processing terminal of  claim 9 , wherein the network is a wireless local area network. 
     
     
         17 . The information processing terminal of  claim 9 , wherein the plurality of playlists created by the selected target user is displayed concurrently along with the user identification information of the selected target user. 
     
     
         18 . An information processing method comprising:
 storing user identification information associated with a user and at least one playlist associated with the user and which indicates a plurality of content data;   transmitting, via a network, the user identification information and the playlist both associated with the user;   receiving, via the network, user identification information of other users and at least one playlist associated with and created by at least one of the other users and which indicates a plurality of content data;   generating display data of the at least one playlist associated with the at least one of the other users;   providing a user interface for selecting a target user from among the other users and for selecting a desired playlist from among playlists associated with the selected target user;   retrieving, via the network, a plurality of playlists created by the selected target user and generating data for display of a list of the plurality of playlists created by the selected target user, based on a selection of one of the other users through the user interface as the selected target user; and   retrieving, via the network, information of a plurality of the content data associated with a selected playlist and generating data for display of a list of information of the plurality of the content data associated with the selected playlist, based on a selection of one of the plurality of playlists created by the selected target user as the selected playlist.   
     
     
         19 . The information processing method of  claim 18 , wherein when one of the content data is selected, musical content is received in a streaming reproduction process via the network. 
     
     
         20 . The information processing method of  claim 19 , wherein information of the received musical content data is displayed through the user interface. 
     
     
         21 . The information processing method of  claim 20 , wherein the information of the received musical content data comprises a title of an album, a thumbnail image of a jacket of the album, and a name of an artist of the album. 
     
     
         22 . The information processing method of  claim 18 , wherein the user identification information of the other users comprises a respective user ID with a set profile, and a respective image data representing the user. 
     
     
         23 . The information processing method of  claim 18 , wherein the network is a wireless local area network. 
     
     
         24 . The information processing method of  claim 18 , wherein the plurality of playlists created by the selected target user is displayed concurrently along with the user identification information of the selected target user. 
     
     
         25 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium having embodied thereon a program, which when executed by a computer causes the computer to perform an information processing method, the method comprising:
 storing user identification information associated with a user and at least one playlist associated with the user and which indicates a plurality of content data;   transmitting, via a network, the user identification information and the playlist both associated with the user;   receiving, via the network, user identification information of other users and at least one playlist associated with and created by at least one of the other users and which indicates a plurality of content data;   generating display data of the at least one playlist associated with the at least one of the other users;   providing a user interface for selecting a target user from among the other users and for selecting a desired playlist from among playlists associated with the selected target user;   retrieving, via the network, a plurality of playlists created by the selected target user and generating data for display of a list of the plurality of playlists created by the selected target user, based on a selection of one of the other users through the user interface as the selected target user; and   retrieving, via the network, information of a plurality of the content data associated with a selected playlist and generating data for display of a list of information of the plurality of the content data associated with the selected playlist, based on a selection of one of the plurality of playlists created by the selected target user as the selected playlist.
