Abstract

A safety grip having a textured exterior surface that is luminescent, the textured exterior surface defining a plurality of longitudinally spaced apart raised bands that are separated by finger receiving bands, the finger receiving bands being recessed inwardly with respect to the raised bands.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. A safety grip mountable to a support member, the safety grip comprising a hollow, integrally formed main body sized to overlie at least a portion of the support member, the safety grip having a longitudinal axis, a textured exterior surface that is luminescent, the textured exterior surface defining a plurality of longitudinally spaced apart raised bands that are separated by finger receiving bands, the finger receiving bands being recessed inwardly with respect to the raised bands.

. The safety grip of claim 1 wherein each raised band comprises a plurality of raised projections that are spaced apart circumferentially and extend circumferentially around a periphery of the main body.

. The safety grip of claim 2 wherein the plurality of raised projections have a height of from 0.5 mm to 5 mm.

. The safety grip of claim 2 wherein the plurality of raised projections have a height of from 1 mm to 3 mm.

. The safety grip of claim 1 wherein the finger receiving bands are longitudinally spaced apart by a finger width whereby, when gripped by a user, each finger of a user's hand is received in a finger receiving band.

. The safety grip of claim 1 wherein the finger receiving bands have a continuous smooth surface.

. The safety grip of claim 1 wherein the main body is made of a luminescent material.

. The safety grip of claim 7 wherein the main body is made of plastic or glass filled nylon.

. The safety grip of claim 1 further comprising a compressible layer that is provided on an exterior surface of the main body and conforms to the textured exterior surface.

. The safety grip of claim 9 wherein the textured exterior surface is integrally formed as part of the main body and the compressible layer is provided on the textured exterior surface

. The safety grip of claim 1 wherein the safety grip is interlockable with a second safety grip.

. The safety grip of claim 11 wherein the main body has at least one longitudinally extending finger that is receivable in a longitudinally extending recess of the second safety grip.

. A safety grip mountable to a support member, the safety grip comprising a hollow, integrally formed, rigid main body sized to overlie at least a portion of the support member, the safety grip having a textured exterior surface that is integrally formed as part of the main body and has finger receiving bands, and the textured exterior surface is luminescent.

. The safety grip of claim 13 wherein the textured exterior surface defines a plurality of longitudinally spaced apart raised bands that are separated by the finger receiving bands.

. The safety grip of claim 14 wherein each raised band comprises a plurality of raised projections that are spaced apart circumferentially and extend circumferentially around a periphery of the main body, the plurality of raised projections have a height of from 0.5 mm to 5 mm.

. The safety grip of claim 15 wherein the plurality of raised projections have a height of from 1 mm to 3 mm.

. The safety grip of claim 13 wherein the finger receiving bands are longitudinally spaced apart by a finger width whereby, when gripped by a user, each finger of a user's hand is received in a finger receiving band.

. The safety grip of claim 13 wherein the finger receiving bands have a continuous smooth surface.

. The safety grip of claim 13 further comprising a compressible layer that is provided on an exterior surface of the main body and conforms to the textured exterior surface.

. The safety grip of claim 19 wherein the textured exterior surface is integrally formed as part of the main body and the compressible layer is provided on the textured exterior surface.

. The safety grip of claim 13 wherein the safety grip is interlockable with a second safety grip.

. The safety grip of claim 21 wherein the main body has at least one longitudinally extending finger that is receivable in a longitudinally extending recess of the second safety grip.
