Presenting offers to users of mobile devices

Abstract

The claimed subject matter relates to an architecture for interacting with a multiple criteria buying and/or selling system to conduct business electronically. In particular, the architecture can include a dynamic discount card that includes an information access component for receiving information. In addition, the dynamic discount card can include a presentation component for displaying information to a user via the dynamic discount card.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method of providing an offer to a user associated with a mobile device, the method comprising:
 creating a user account accessible by a plurality of devices associated with the user, wherein the user account comprises:
 profile information about the user, 
 a method of payment, and 
 a past purchase; 
   storing the user account on a network;   presenting the user with information regarding collection and use of information associated with at least one mobile device associated with the user;   receiving updated location information provided by the at least one mobile device and receiving an action initiated by the user of the at least one mobile device;   transmitting an offer to the at least one mobile device;   allowing the user to:
 review, by way of the at least one mobile device, the offer; 
 review feedback from other buyers related to the offer; 
 initiate an action with regard to the offer; and 
 updating the user account with information corresponding to the offer and the action taken. 
   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the mobile device comprises a mobile phone. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the mobile device comprises a hand-held computer. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the mobile device comprises an automobile. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein one of the plurality of devices comprises a laptop computer. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the profile information includes a preference for a product or service. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the profile information includes demographic information. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the profile information includes feedback related to a merchant. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the user account includes a default payment method. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the default payment method includes at least one credit card or debit card. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the profile information includes a user tagged product or service to indicate a level of interest. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the profile information includes a stored preference related to shipping or delivery. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising enabling the user to port at least some information associated with the user account to a mobile device. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the action taken with regard to the offer is a purchase made by way of the mobile device. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising payment of a fee to a third party to present the offer to the user. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the action taken with regard to the offer is a saving of the offer by way of the mobile device, the offer being made accessible at a later time. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the offer includes additional information about the product or service and an indication of a location that is closest to the user based on the location information of the mobile device. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the action initiated by the user of the mobile device is a search request for a product or service. 
     
     
         19 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having embodied thereon instructions executable by a processor to perform a method of providing an offer to a user associated with a mobile device, the method comprising:
 creating a user account accessible by a plurality of devices associated with the user, wherein the user account comprises:
 profile information about the user, 
 a method of payment, and 
 a past purchase; 
   storing the user account on a network;   presenting the user with information regarding collection and use of information associated with at least one mobile device associated with the user;   receiving updated location information provided by the at least one mobile device and receiving an action initiated by the user of the at least one mobile device;   transmitting an offer to the at least one mobile device;   allowing the user to:
 review, by way of the at least one mobile device, the offer; 
 review feedback from other buyers related to the offer; 
 initiate an action with regard to the offer; and 
 updating the user account with information corresponding to the offer and the action taken. 
   
     
     
         20 . A system for providing an offer to a user associated with a mobile device, the system comprising:
 a non-transitory computer memory that stores computer executable instructions; and   a processor that executes the computer executable instructions stored in memory to:
 create a user account accessible by a plurality of devices associated with the user, wherein the user account comprises:
 profile information about the user, 
 a method of payment, and 
 a past purchase; 
 
 store the user account on a network; 
 present the user with information regarding collection and use of information associated with at least one mobile device associated with the user; 
 receive updated location information provided by the at least one mobile device and receiving an action initiated by the user of the at least one mobile device; 
 transmit an offer to the at least one mobile device; 
 allow the user to:
 review, by way of the at least one mobile device, the offer; 
 review feedback from other buyers related to the offer; 
 initiate an action with regard to the offer; and 
 update the user account with information corresponding to the offer and the action taken.
