Abstract

An improved surf leash with a tangle resistant cord, fabrication methods thereof, and an apparatus and methods operationally configured to resist tangling of existing surf leashes.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . We claim a surf leash with a cord that has a resilient member that bends in a restricted plane;
 wherein said resilient member is located along at least a portion of the cord so that the cord and resilient member both bend in a restricted plane.

         2 . The surf leash of claim 1 , wherein the said resilient member s the cord defined by a shape that bends in a restricted plane.

         3 . The surf leash of claim 2 , wherein said cord is flattened, along at least a portion of the length of said cord.

         4 . The surf leash of claim 1 wherein the said cord is defined by a plurality of said resilient members disposed within the cord.

         5 . The surf leash of claim 1 wherein said cord is defined by a single resilient member located along a portion of cord.

         6 . The surf leash of claim 5 wherein said single resilient member is embedded at depth within the cord.

         7 . The surf leash of claim 1 wherein the said cord contains at least one resilient member embedded therein.

         8 . The surf leash of claim 1 wherein said cord is defined by a resilient member encapsulated within the cord.

         9 . The surf leash of  claim 8  wherein the said resilient member is located within a space cushion;
 wherein the said resilient member can move within the space cushion.

         10 . We claim a surf leash with a cord that is configured to bend in a restricted plane by the mechanism of a resilient member located along at least a portion of the cord so that the resilient member causes cord to bend in a restricted plane.

         11 . The surf leash of claim 10 wherein the said cord is defined by a plurality of said resilient members disposed within the cord.

         12 . The surf leash of claim 10 wherein said cord is defined by a single resilient member located along a portion of cord.

         13 . The surf leash of claim 12 wherein said single resilient member is embedded at depth within the cord.

         14 . The surf leash of  claim 10  wherein the said cord contains at least one resilient member;
 wherein said resilient member(s) reinforce portions of the cord by closely hugging or binding to at least a portion of a surface of said cord.

         15 . The surf leash of claim 10 wherein said cord is defined by a resilient member encapsulated within the cord.

         16 . The surf leash of  claim 15  wherein said resilient member is located within a space cushion;
 wherein the said resilient member can move within the space cushion.
