Commodity recognition apparatus and commodity recognition method

Abstract

A commodity recognition apparatus comprises an image interface, a memory and a processor. The image interface is configured to acquire a commodity image captured by a camera. The memory is configured to store a candidate of a commodity recognized from the commodity image acquired by the image interface. The processor is configured to try to read a commodity recognition code from the commodity image acquired by the image interface and reset the candidate of the commodity stored in the memory if the commodity recognition code is read.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A commodity recognition apparatus, comprising:
 an image interface configured to acquire a commodity image captured by a camera;   a memory configured to store a candidate of a commodity recognized from the commodity image acquired by the image interface; and   a processor configured to try to read a commodity recognition code from the commodity image acquired by the image interface and reset the candidate of the commodity stored in the memory if the commodity recognition code is read.   
     
     
         2 . The commodity recognition apparatus according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a display configured to display the candidate of the commodity stored in the memory, wherein   the processor further erases the candidate of the commodity displayed on the display if the commodity recognition code is read.   
     
     
         3 . The commodity recognition apparatus according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 an input device through which the commodity recognition code can be input, wherein   the processor further resets the candidate of the commodity stored in the memory if the commodity recognition code is input through the input device.   
     
     
         4 . A commodity recognition method, comprising:
 trying to read a commodity recognition code from a commodity image acquired by an image interface;   recognizing a candidate of a commodity included in an image from the commodity image acquired by the image interface;   registering the candidate of the commodity recognized from the commodity image in the memory; and   resetting the candidate of the commodity stored in the memory if a result of trying to read the commodity recognition code is that the commodity recognition code is read.   
     
     
         5 . The commodity recognition method according to  claim 4 , further comprising:
 erasing the candidate of the commodity displayed on a display for displaying the candidate of the commodity stored in the memory if the result of trying to read the commodity recognition code is that the commodity recognition code is read.
