Claims

Abstract

A system for automatically monitoring, regulating, and removing contaminants from a structure housing a body of liquid and for introducing the proper amount of outside air to maintain a negative pressure in the structure. The invention comprises a sensor for monitoring contaminants, a port assembly connected to at least one conduit, a controller to receive input from the sensor, a controller programmed to regulate environmental conditions of the structure at a predetermined level correlating to desired air quality in the structure, at least one exhaust fan, a climate control system, a cold plasma ionization system, a control signal from the controller for regulating the introduced outside air into the structure and for advancing fresh air into the structure, and a fresh air damper or fan.

That which is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A system for automatically monitoring, regulating, and removing contaminants from a structure housing a body of liquid and for introducing the proper amount of outside air to maintain a negative pressure in the structure, said system comprising:
 a sensor for monitoring contaminants mounted to a wall adjacent the body of liquid;   an assembly comprising at least one port connected to at least one conduit, said at least one port directing contaminants and water vapor from a surface of the body of liquid into said conduit;   at least one controller to receive input from said sensor, said at least one controller programmed to regulate environmental conditions of the structure at a predetermined level correlating to desired air quality in the structure;   at least one designated exhaust fan with an independent exhaust path extending from said system, said at least one designated exhaust fan regulated by said controller to provide the desired air quality;   at least one climate control system for recirculating air into and out of a structure containing the body of liquid;   at least one cold plasma ionization system integrated into the climate control system of the structure;   at least one control signal from said controller for regulating the introduced outside air into the structure and for advancing fresh air into the structure; and   a fresh air damper or fan for regulating the flow of outside air into of the structure;   wherein said sensor will forward data to said controller programmed to modulate the source capture exhaust and the introduction of outside air by means of a climate control system damper or fan; and   wherein said conduit evacuates the contaminants and water vapor from the body of liquid.   
     
     
         2 . An apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein said assembly is retrofitted to an existing structure. 
     
     
         3 . An apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein said assembly is independent of any existing exhaust systems in the structure. 
     
     
         4 . An apparatus according to  claim 1 , further comprising a controller for monitoring and regulating the flow of air. 
     
     
         5 . An apparatus according to  claim 1  wherein said assembly is secured to a wall of the structure by a mounting member. 
     
     
         6 . An apparatus according to  claim 1  further comprising:
 an exhaust connector for connecting said conduit to an exhaust removal system; 
 an air damper for directing the flow of air; and 
 an exhaust connected to said exhaust connector.
