Abstract
There is provided a transmitting apparatus including an image data output unit that outputs stereoscopic image data including left-eye image data and right-eye image data for displaying a stereoscopic image, a data transmitting unit that transmits the stereoscopic image data output from the image data output unit to an external device through a transmission path, and an information acquisition unit that acquires information related to a screen size from the external device through the transmission path. The image data output unit outputs the stereoscopic image data suited for the screen size obtained from the information acquired by the information acquisition unit.

2 . A stereoscopic image data transmitting method, comprising the steps of:
acquiring information related to a screen size from an external device through a transmission path; and transmitting stereoscopic image data, including left-eye image data and right-eye image data for displaying a stereoscopic image, to the external device through the transmission path, wherein one frame of the stereoscopic image data is transmitted during a time between one vertical synchronizing signal of a signal transmitted in the step of transmitting and the next vertical synchronizing signal of a signal transmitted in the step of transmitting, the left-eye image data and the right-eye image data in the one frame are transmitted in a predetermined order, the number of lines and number of pixels of the left-eye image data during transmitting of the left-eye image data are the same as the number of lines and the number of pixels displayed during displaying of the left-eye image data, and the number of lines and number of pixels of the right-eye image data during transmitting of the right-eye image data are the same as the number of lines and the number of pixels displayed during displaying of the right-eye image data, there is an interval of time between transmission of the left-eye image data and transmission of the right-eye image data, and no image data for displaying a stereoscopic image is transmitted during the interval of time between transmission of the left-eye image data and transmission of the right-eye image data.
3 . A transmitting apparatus comprising:
an acquiring unit that acquires information related to a screen size from an external device through a transmission path; and a transmitting unit that transmits stereoscopic image data, including left-eye image data and right-eye image data for displaying a stereoscopic image, to the external device through the transmission path, wherein one frame of the stereoscopic image data is transmitted during a time between one vertical synchronizing signal of a signal transmitted by the transmitting unit and the next vertical synchronizing signal of a signal transmitted by the transmitting unit, the left-eye image data and the right-eye image data in the one frame are transmitted in a predetermined order, the number of lines and number of pixels of the left-eye image data during transmitting of the left-eye image data are the same as the number of lines and the number of pixels displayed during displaying of the left-eye image data, and the number of lines and number of pixels of the right-eye image data during transmitting of the right-eye image data are the same as the number of lines and the number of pixels displayed during displaying of the right-eye image data, there is an interval of time between transmission of the left-eye image data and transmission of the right-eye image data, and no image data for displaying a stereoscopic image is transmitted during the interval of time between transmission of the left-eye image data and transmission of the right-eye image data.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
