Abstract

A floating beverage container that remains substantially upright when placed in liquid, and continues to function well when placed in a cup holder or other substantially flat surface, including a floatation compartment releasably attached to a ballast chamber. The floatation compartment includes an interior surface including multiple inner diameters and a tapered upper section to accommodate many types of beverage containers. The ballast compartment has a substantially flat bottom surface.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A floating beverage holder comprising:
a floatation compartment having an interior surface, wherein said interior surface includes a lower interior edge, and a middle interior edge, wherein said middle interior edge has a larger inner diameter than said lower interior edge, and wherein said interior surface further includes a tapered upper interior edge, wherein more than half of the interior surface is tapered to accommodate a beverage; and a ballast chamber releaseably connected to said floatation compartment.

2 . The floating beverage holder of claim 1 , wherein said ballast chamber has a substantially flat bottom surface.

3 . The floating beverage holder of claim 1 , wherein said ballast chamber includes a plurality of ballast containers.

4 . The floating beverage holder of claim 3 , wherein said plurality of ballast containers are substantially circular.

5 . The floating beverage holder of claim 1 , wherein said interior surface further includes a tapered upper interior edge, wherein said tapered upper interior edge is tapered at an angle between approximately eight to approximately fifteen degrees from the upright vertical axis.

6 . The floating beverage holder of claim 1 , wherein said lower interior edge has an inner diameter between approximately 2.3 inches and approximately 2.5 inches.

7 . The floating beverage holder of claim 1 , wherein said middle interior edge has an inner diameter of between approximately 2.5 inches and approximately 2.7 inches.

         8 . A floating beverage holder, comprising:
a floatation compartment having an interior surface, wherein said interior surface includes a tapered upper interior edge, wherein a majority of said interior surface is tapered for engaging a beverage; and a ballast chamber releaseably connected to said floatation compartment, wherein said ballast chamber has a substantially flat bottom surface.

9 . The floating beverage holder of claim 8 , wherein said interior surface includes a lower interior edge, and a middle interior edge, wherein said middle interior edge has a larger inner diameter than said lower interior edge.

10 . The floating beverage holder of claim 9 , wherein said lower interior edge has an inner diameter of between approximately 2.3 inches and 2.5 inches.

11 . The floating beverage holder of claim 9 , wherein said wherein said middle interior edge has an inner diameter of between approximately 2.5 inches and approximately 2.7 inches.

12 . The floating beverage holder of claim 9 , wherein said tapered upper interior edge is tapered at an angle between approximately eight to approximately fifteen degrees from the upright vertical axis.

13 . The floating beverage holder of claim 8 , wherein said ballast chamber includes a plurality of ballast containers.

14 . The floating beverage holder of claim 13 , wherein said plurality of ballast containers are substantially circular.

         15 . A floating beverage holder comprising:
a floatation compartment, wherein said floatation compartment has a substantially tapered interior surface; wherein said interior surface includes a lower interior edge and a middle interior edge, wherein said middle interior edge has a larger inner diameter than said lower interior edge, and wherein said interior surface further includes a tapered upper interior edge to grip a tapered beverage holder; and a ballast chamber releaseably connected to said floatation compartment, wherein said ballast chamber has a substantially flat bottom surface.

16 . The floating beverage holder of claim 15 , wherein said lower interior edge has an interior diameter between approximately 2.3 inches and approximately 2.5 inches.

17 . The floating beverage holder of claim 15 , wherein said middle interior edge has an inner diameter between approximately 2.5 inches and approximately 2.7 inches.

18 . The floating beverage holder of claim 15 , wherein said tapered upper interior edge is tapered at an angle between approximately 8 degrees and approximately 15 degrees from the upright vertical axis.

19 . The floating beverage holder of claim 15 , wherein said ballast chamber includes a plurality of ballast containers.

20 . The floating beverage holder of claim 19 , wherein said plurality of ballast containers are substantially circular.
