Abstract
A method for inserting a flowable material adjacent the alveolar ridge bone through an elongated tube having an a side perforation. The elongated tube can be a dental implant.

1 . A device for periosteal distraction in the jaws comprising:
a. a bone screw, an elevating element and a plate, said bone screw being configured to be screwed inside a jaw bone, said plate being configured to be located between said bone and the gums adjacent said bone, said plate has at least one hole, said elevating element being connected to a coronal region of said bone screw and protruding through said hole in said plate and said gums to be accessible from the oral cavity, said elevating element being configured while being rotated to displace said plate and said gums from said bone to create a space between said bone and said plate to be filled with new tissue.
2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said elevating element includes threads.
3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said device includes a second bone screw configured to be inserted inside said bone, a second elevating element being connected to a coronal region of said second bone screw and protruding through a second hole in said plate and said gums to be accessible from said oral cavity.
4 . The device of claim 1 , wherein a surface of said plate facing said bone being rough to enhance blood clot adhesion to said plate.
5 . The device of claim 1 , wherein a surface of said plate facing said bone includes a material to enhance bone tissue growth.
6 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said plate has additional holes.
7 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said plate being curved.
8 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the borders of said plate being rounded.
9 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said device further includes a stabilizing element to prevent micro-motion of said plate.
10 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said elevating element being configured to allow gradual displacement of said plate over several days.
11 . A method for periosteal distraction in the jaws comprising:
a. inserting a bone screw inside a jaw bone. b. placing a plate between said bone and the gums adjacent said bone, said plate has at least one hole. c. connecting an elevating element to a coronal region of said bone screw so said elevating element being protruding through said hole of said plate and said gums to be accessible from the oral cavity. d. rotating said elevating element so as to displace said plate and said gums from said bone to create a space between said bone and said plate. e. leaving said plate between said bone and said gums for at least several days to allow bone tissue regeneration inside said space.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein said elevating element includes threads.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein a second bone screw is inserted inside said bone, a second elevating element being connected to a coronal region of said second bone screw and protruding through a second hole in said plate and said gums to be accessible from said oral cavity.
14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein a surface of said plate facing said bone being rough to enhance blood clot adhesion to said plate.
15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein a surface of said plate facing said bone includes a material to enhance bone tissue growth.
16 . The method of claim 11 , wherein said plate has additional holes.
17 . The method of claim 11 , wherein said plate being curved.
18 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the borders of said plate being rounded.
19 . The method of claim 11 , wherein said device further includes a stabilizing element to prevent micro-motion of said plate.
