Document Vault and Application Platform
Abstract
Online document storage and/or retrieval techniques are described. In an implementation, one or more computer-readable media comprising instructions that are executable to provide a web service application programming interface (API). The web service API is configured to accept a document and information specified by the document's provider. The information specifying which of a plurality of tabs in a user interface at least a portion of data included in the document is to be is to be associated with for display in which at least one of the tabs pertains to billing data and another one of the tabs does not pertain to billing data.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A system comprising:
one or more computing device configured to perform operations comprising: exposing a web service application programming interface (API) that is configured to accept a document and information specified by the document's provider; and organizing the document based on the information to specify which of a plurality of tabs in a user interface at least a portion of data included in the document is to be is to be associated with for display in which at least one of the tabs pertains to billing data and another one of the tabs does not pertain to billing data.
2 . A system as described in claim 1 , wherein the web service API is further configured to link the at least a portion of data to the document such that the user interface is operable to display the document upon selection of the at least a portion of data.
3 . A system as described in claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further executable for use in generating a report, for display with one of the tabs, that includes the at least a portion of data with data included in an additional document that is also associated with the one of the tabs.
4 . A system as described in claim 1 , wherein the web service API is further configured to authenticate with the document's provider such that a single authentication is usable to access an account with the user interface and an account with the document's provider.
5 . A system as described in claim 4 , wherein the web service API is further configured to access the account with the document's provider without manual authentication.
6 . A system as described in claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further executable to share a copy of the document and the at least a portion of data from a first account to a second account, in which the at least a portion of data is displayed in association with a particular one of the tabs in the second account according to how the at least a portion of data was displayed in the first account.
7 . A system as described in claim 1 , wherein the information further specifies account information that is usable by the web service API to direct the document for display.
8 . A system as described in claim 1 , wherein the information comprises financial information used to conclude a financial transaction.
9 . A system as described in claim 1 , wherein the web service API is further configured to accept information specified by the document's provider that is forwarded through an intermediary.
10 . A method comprising:
accepting a billing statement and information specified by the billing statement's provider automatically, the information specifying which of a plurality of tabs in a user interface at least a portion of data included in the billing statement is to be associated with for display; accepting a document that is not a billing statement with information specified by the document's provider, the information specifying which of a plurality of tabs in a user interface at least a portion of data included in the document is to be associated with for displayed; and configuring a user interface to be accessible via a network by a browser and to provide access to the at least a portion of data included in the billing statement that is organized according to the information specified by the billing statement's provider and the at least a portion of data included in the document organized according to the information specified by the document's provider.
11 . A method as described in claim 10 , further comprising displaying a report, in the user interface, generated from the least a portion of data included in the billing statement and data included in another billing statement that is associated with information in common with the billing statement.
12 . A method as described in claim 11 , wherein the report links the at least a portion of data from the billing statement with the billing statement such that the user interface displays the billing statement in response to selection of the at least a portion of data from the billing statement.
13 . A method as described in claim 10 , wherein the information specified by the billing statement's provider is included with financial information that is used to conclude a financial transaction with the billing statement's provider.
14 . A method as described in claim 10 , further comprising using a single authentication to access the billing statement with the user interface and a copy of the billing statement maintained by the billing statement's provider.
15 . A method as described in claim 10 , further comprising sharing a copy of the billing statement and the at least a portion of data included in the billing statement from a first account to a second account such that the at least a portion of data included in the billing statement is displayed in association with a tab in the second account according to how the at least a portion of data included in the billing statement was displayed in the first account.
16 . One or more computer-readable media comprising instructions that are executable to provide a web service application programming interface (API) that is configured to accept a document and information specified by the document's provider, the information specifying which of a plurality of tabs in a user interface at least a portion of data included in the document is to be is to be associated with for display in which at least one of the tabs pertains to billing data and another one of the tabs does not pertain to billing data.
17 . One or more computer-readable media as described in claim 16 , wherein the web service API is further configured to link the at least a portion of data to the document such that the user interface is operable to display the document upon selection of the at least a portion of data.
18 . One or more computer-readable media as described in claim 16 , wherein the instructions are further executable for use in generating a report, for display with one of the tabs, that includes the at least a portion of data with data included in an additional document that is also associated with the one of the tabs.
19 . One or more computer-readable media as described in claim 16 , wherein the web service API is further configured to authenticate with the document's provider such that a single authentication is usable to access an account with the user interface and an account with the document's provider.
20 . One or more computer-readable media as described in claim 19 , wherein the web service API is further configured to access the account with the document's provider without manual authentication.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
