Content distribution system
Abstract
A system and method for distribution of content on a computer network between a plurality of content providers and a plurality of users. A plurality of content provider packets provided by one or more of the content providers are stored, and a link provided to users for access to the content provider packets. When a user activates the link the selected content provider packet is displayed and the user may store the content provider packet in a personal showcase display for future access by the user. Showcase access is syndicated across web enabled devices through revenue sharing agreements.

82 . A method for distributing content on a computer network from a content provider to a plurality of users accessing the network via user terminals, the method comprising:
creating content for distribution to the users; formatting the content into a content provider packet, the content provider packet being displayed as a display area containing information from the content provider and links for access to additional information from the first content provider; storing the content provider packet for viewing by the users via the network; and sending data to a user terminal of one of the users who has opted to receive the content provider packet for storing the content provider packet for future access by the user.
83 . The method according to claim 82 , further comprising providing a link to said one of the users for access to the content provider packet stored for the user.
84 . The method according to claim 82 , wherein the content for each content provider packet from a content provider is displayed as a customizable display area containing informational statements from the content provider and links for access to additional information from the content provider.
85 . The method according to claim 82 , wherein the content for each of the content provider packets is displayed to the user as at least one line of plain text, and at least one link to a web site for the content provider providing the content provider packet.
86 . The method according to claim 85 , wherein the content provider packets includes at least one link to forward the content provider packet via email.
87 . The method according to claim 82 , further comprising:
updating a content provider packet with data provided by a content provider subsequent to the creation of the content provider packet.
88 . The method according to claim 82 , further comprising:
receiving demographic information relating to the user; storing a demographic profile associated with at least one of the content provider packets; and sending data to the user terminal for selecting from a plurality of content provider packets based at least in part on the demographic information and demographic profile.
89 . A method for distributing content on a computer network from a plurality of content providers to a user accessing the network via a user terminal, the method comprising:
displaying a plurality of content provider packets provided by the plurality of content providers, each content provider packet being displayed as a display area containing information from the content provider providing the content provider packet and links for access to additional information from the first content provider providing the content provider packet; and selecting a content provider packet from the plurality of content provider packets; and adding the selected content provider packet to a web page.
90 . The method according to claim 89 , wherein the content for each of the content provider packets is displayed to the user as at least one line of plain text and at least one link to a web site for the content provider providing the content provider packet
91 . The method according to claim 90 , wherein the content provider packets includes at least one link to forward the content provider packet via email.
