Abstract
A polymeric sheet having low density and comprising a low to non-existent amount of cyclic olefinic polymers (COP) and/or cyclic olefinic copolymers (COC). The overall density of the sheet may be lower than water. The sheet may be stretched and then heat shrinked onto an article. The sheet may be used as a label or package to wrap articles therewith.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A polymeric sheet, the sheet haying a density less than 1 g/cm 3 , and being shrinkable in a machine direction by at least 20% upon heating of the sheet to 100° C.
2 . The polymeric sheet of claim 1 , wherein the sheet is shrinkable by at least 25%.
3 . The polymeric sheet of claim 1 , comprising at least two materials, wherein at least one of the at least two materials has a density greater than 1 g/cm 3 .
4 . The polymeric sheet of claim 3 , comprising up to 50 wt. % of cyclic olefinic copolymer and/or cyclic olefinic polymer (COC/COP).
5 . The polymeric sheet of claim 3 , wherein the at least one material is polystyrene (PS) or PETg (Poly (ethylene terephthalate) glycol).
6 . The polymeric sheet of claim 3 , wherein the materials are in the form of layers.
7 . The polymeric sheet of claim 1 having a thickness of up to 50 μm.
8 . The polymeric sheet of claim 1 being shrinkable along an axis perpendicular to the machine direction by no more than 5%.
9 . The polymeric sheet of claim 1 , the sheet being transparent.
10 . The polymeric sheet of claim 1 , having a density less than 1 g/cm 3 after shrinking.
11 . The polymeric sheet of claim 1 , being produced by short-gap stretching.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
