Methods of vehicle suspension
Abstract
A method is provided, including providing a hub for mounting a wheel to a frame; providing a first mounting pivotally connected at one end to a first position on the frame; providing a second mounting pivotally connected at one end to a second position on the frame; providing a first arm which is coupled at a first position to the top of the hub and pivotally connected at a second position to the other end of the first mounting; providing a second arm which is coupled at a first position to the bottom of the hub and pivotally connected at a second position to the other end of the second mounting; and providing a shock absorber coupled at one end to a third position on the second arm between the first and second positions on the second arm and at the other end to a third position on the frame.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method comprising:
providing a hub for mounting a wheel to a frame; providing a first mounting pivotally connected at one end to a first predetermined position on the frame; providing a second mounting pivotally connected at one end to a second predetermined position on the frame; providing a first arm which is coupled at a first predetermined position to the top of the hub and pivotally connected at a second predetermined position to the other end of the first mounting; providing a second arm which is coupled at a first predetermined position to the bottom of the hub and pivotally connected at a second predetermined position to the other end of the second mounting; and providing a shock absorber coupled at one end to a third predetermined position on the second arm between the first and second predetermined positions on the second arm and at the other end to a third predetermined position on the frame.
2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein
the third predetermined position on the frame is such that the shock absorber extends and contracts essentially parallel to the motion of the hub.
3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein
the hub, first arm and second arm are all parts of the same physical element.
4 . A method comprising:
providing a hub for mounting a wheel to a frame; providing a first mounting pivotally connected at one end to a first predetermined position on the frame; providing a second mounting pivotally connected at one end to a second predetermined position on the frame; providing a first arm which is coupled at a first predetermined position to the top of the hub and pivotally connected at a second predetermined position to the other end of the first mounting; providing a second arm which is coupled at a first predetermined position to the bottom of the hub and pivotally connected at a second predetermined position to the other end of the second mounting; and providing a shock absorber coupled at one end to a predetermined position on the second mounting and at the other end to a third predetermined position on the first arm.
5 . The method according to claim 4 , wherein
the third predetermined position on the first arm is further from the hub than the second predetermined position.
6 . The method according to claim 4 , wherein
the hub, first arm and second arm are all parts of the same physical element.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
