Apparatus and method for securing mobile terminal
Abstract
A mobile terminal and a method for securing information are provided. The mobile terminal includes an application part to receive information related to an application; a determining unit to receive a command issued by the application and to determine whether the command or the application is authorized to access a system resource of the mobile terminal; and a blocking unit to block an execution of the command in response to a determination that the execution of the command is unauthorized or issued by the unauthorized application. The method includes receiving information related to an application; receiving a request for executing a command issued by the application; determining whether the requested command or the application is authorized to access a system resource of a mobile terminal; and blocking execution of the command in response to a determination that the execution of the command is unauthorized or issued by an unauthorized application.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method for securing information in a mobile terminal, comprising:
setting reference information for determining whether to block an unauthorized command; detecting a request for executing a command issued by an application; determining, using the reference information, whether the requested command or the application is authorized; blocking execution of the command in response to a determination that the execution of the command is unauthorized or issued by an unauthorized application; and executing the command in response to a determination that the execution of the command is authorized or issued by an authorized application.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the setting reference information comprises:
receiving an input for selection of an application among a plurality of applications.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the received input is a user provided input.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the setting reference information comprises:
receiving an input for selection of a service among a plurality of services.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the received input is a user provided input.
6 . The method of claim 1 , the blocking execution of the command comprises:
notifying blocking of the execution of the command.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the notification is provided through a user interface.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the blocking execution of the command comprises:
providing a user interface to receive a user selection; and executing the command in response to the user selection.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining whether the requested command or the application is authorized comprises:
extracting a command and information related to the application from the request; and comparing the extracted command and information to the reference information for determining whether the requested command or the application is authorized.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining whether the requested command or the application is authorized is based on a security level of the application.
11 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
setting format information for notification of blocking; and notifying blocking of the execution of the command according to the format information.
12 . A mobile terminal, comprising:
a setting unit to set reference information for determining whether to block an unauthorized command; a determining unit to detect a request for executing a command issued by an application, and to determine, using the reference information, whether the requested command or the application is authorized; a blocking unit to block execution of the command in response to a determination that the execution of the command is unauthorized or issued by an unauthorized application; and a service unit to execute the command in response to a determination that the execution of the command is authorized or issued by an authorized application.
13 . The mobile terminal of claim 12 , wherein the setting unit receives an input for selection of an application among a plurality of applications.
14 . The mobile terminal of claim 12 , wherein the setting unit receives an input for selection of a service among a plurality of services.
15 . The mobile terminal of claim 12 , wherein the blocking unit provides a notification indicating blocking of the execution of the command.
16 . The mobile terminal of claim 12 , wherein the blocking unit provides a user interface to receive a user selection, and to execute the command in response to the user selection.
17 . The mobile terminal of claim 12 , wherein the determining unit extracts a command and information related to the application from the request, and compares the extracted command and information to the reference information for determining whether the requested command or the application is authorized.
18 . The mobile terminal of claim 12 , wherein the determining unit determines whether the requested command or the application is authorized based on a security level of the application.
19 . The mobile terminal of claim 12 , wherein the setting unit sets format information for notification of blocking, and the blocking unit provides a notification indicating blocking of the execution of the command according to the format information.
20 . A method for securing information in a mobile terminal, the method comprising:
setting reference information, based on a user input, for determining whether to block an unauthorized command; detecting a request for executing a command issued by an application; determining, using the reference information, whether the requested command or the application is authorized; blocking execution of the command in response to a determination that the execution of the command is unauthorized or issued by an unauthorized application; and executing the command in response to a determination that the execution of the command is authorized or issued by an authorized application.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
