Method and system of displaying information related to items offered for sale in a network-based marketplace
Abstract
In an example embodiment, a system comprises at least one module, executing on one or more computer processors, to identify at least one item offered for sale by a seller in a network-based marketplace, the item associated with a listing and a first set of information describing the listing; based at least on the first set of information, generate a second set of information to supplement the first set of information, wherein the second set of information comprises information at least related to the item and further comprises information related to the seller of the item; generate one or more multimedia programs comprising at least some of the second set of information; push the second set of information to at least one user in the network-based marketplace; enable the user to make a purchase request for the item for sale using the second set of information; and receive a purchase request for the item for sale from the user.

2 . A computer-implemented method, comprising:
identifying, using one or more processors, at least one item offered for sale by a seller in a network-based marketplace, the item associated with a listing and a first set of information describing the listing; based at least on the first set of information, generating, using one or more processors, a second set of information to supplement the first set of information, wherein the second set of information comprises information at least related to the item and further comprises information related to the seller of the item; generating, using one or more processors, one or more multimedia programs, the one or more multimedia programs comprising at least some of the second set of information; pushing, using one or more processors, the second set of information to at least one user in the network-based marketplace; enabling the user to make a purchase request for the item for sale using the second set of information, and receiving a purchase request for the item for sale from the user.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the pushing of the second set of information is performed while the item remains offered for sale in the network-based marketplace.
4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the first set of information includes price information, seller identification information, and item description information.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the first or second set of information further includes current highest bidder identification information when the network-based marketplace is associated with an auction format.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the first or second set of information is further related to one or more bidders of the item.
7 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the second set of information is pushed as one or more of: a video stream; texts or images; television broadcast signals; screen savers.
8 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the second set of information is pushed to at least one non-user of the network-based marketplace.
9 . The method of claim 2 , further including dynamically changing the second set of information based on an identification of one or more items included in a user list.
10 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising including information relating to the credit-worthiness of the seller of the item for sale, or a complaint made against the seller of the item offered for sale, in the second set of information.
11 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising pushing the second set of information to the at least one user based on a detection that the at least one user is signed in to the network-based marketplace.
12 . A system comprising:
at least one module, executing on one or more computer processors, to:
identify at least one item offered for sale by a seller in a network-based marketplace, the item associated with a listing and a first set of information describing the listing;
based at least on the first set of information, generate a second set of information to supplement the first set of information, wherein the second set of information comprises information at least related to the item and further comprises information related to the seller of the item;
generate one or more multimedia programs comprising at least some of the second set of information;
push the second set of information to at least one user in the network-based marketplace;
enable the user to make a purchase request for the item for sale using the second set of information; and
receive a purchase request for the item for sale from the user.
13 . A non-transitory machine readable medium, including instructions, which when performed by a machine, causes the machine to perform operations comprising:
identifying at least one item offered for sale by a seller in a network-based marketplace, the item associated with a listing and a first set of information describing the listing; based at least on the first set of information, generating a second set of information to supplement the first set of information, wherein the second set of information comprises information at least related to the item and further comprises information related to the seller of the item; generating one or more multimedia programs comprising at least some of the second set of information; pushing the second set of information to at least one user in the network-based marketplace; enabling the user to make a purchase request for the item for sale using the second set of information; and receiving a purchase request for the item for sale from the user.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
