Abstract
A portable, fully-disposable, pet toilet is comprised of a receptacle whose cavity is fitted with living grass, living sod (including washed or soil-free sod), or a grass-seed medium. The unit has a fitted, removable cover or fold-back lid to enable the convenient shipping and disposal of the unit in its entirety. The pet toilet is used by the pet for a set period of time, at which point it is completely disposed of and replaced with a new one.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThis Continuing Application submits the following additional claims as being consistent with and supported by the substance of disclosures in the Claims and Specification of the previous parent patent application Ser. No. 13/175,869 and its predecessor and related patent documents.
1 . A pet toilet unit construction and continuous delivery and replacement method comprising the steps of:
constructing a pet toilet unit, wherein a single, integrated unit is created, said unit having: a receptacle made from, lined with, coated with or otherwise constructed, assembled or treated with a substance(s) or material(s) resistant to liquids, and one or more sidewalls that rise from the base of the receptacle and connect to form an internal cavity into which a piece of living grass is fitted for the purpose of collecting the bodily wastes of a pet, and a cover or shipping container that can be removed or folded back; and establishing a continuous delivery and replacement method for the continuous delivery and replacement of said pet toilet units, wherein each unit is constructed in a manner substantially similar to the unit previously described, and wherein said delivery and replacement can occur at regular, specified intervals so that at least one customer or pet owner can obtain an entirely new unit to replace a previously delivered unit, which can be discarded in its entirety when a new unit is delivered.
2 . The pet toilet unit construction and continuous delivery and replacement method according to claim 1 , wherein at least one customer or pet owner who has obtained a new living-grass, fully-disposable pet toilet unit can obtain one or more replacement units, which are constructed in a manner substantially similar to said new unit;
wherein at least that one customer or pet owner can continue to obtain said pet toilets units, which are constructed in a manner substantially similar to said pet toilet unit, through a continuous delivery and replacement system; and wherein the living-grass, fully-disposable pet toilet unit can be delivered to at least one customer in its entirety, can be discarded in its entirety, and can be replaced in its entirety when a new unit is delivered.
3 . The pet toilet unit construction and continuous delivery and replacement method according to claim 1 , wherein the living-grass, fully-disposable pet toilet unit may be constructed in a rectangular shape or other shape; and
wherein the unit may be constructed in a manner to hold a flat piece of grass, or constructed in a manner so that the living grass may be incorporated into the pet toilet unit in a folded-up or rolled-up state; wherein the unit may be constructed to hold a flat piece of grass, or grass seeds, a grass-seed medium, or any type of grass-predecessor; wherein the unit may be constructed to incorporate living sod, including washed or soil-free sod, a grass-seed medium, or other forms of living grass or type of grass predecessors; wherein the unit may be constructed to incorporate the use of a form of living grass that can remain alive during an extended shipping process; wherein the unit may be constructed so that it can be elevated to promote air circulation under the bottom of the disposable container when the pet toilet unit is being used as a pet waste receptacle; wherein the unit may be constructed to have perforations or cut-outs that can be used to create an opening in the container to aid the entry of pets into the unit when it is used as a pet waste receptacle; wherein the unit may be constructed to have perforations or cut-outs that can be used to create an opening in the container to aid the connecting of units together; and wherein the unit may be constructed so that one or more units may be positioned in an adjacent or abutting manner, or joined together in a manner that will create a grass surface area that is larger than the grass surface area of a single pet toilet unit.
4 . A living-grass pet toilet and continuous delivery and replacement method, wherein the unit is designed as a self-contained unit that can both transport the living grass for initial use and can serve as a fully disposable pet commode;
wherein the unit may have a fitted or removable cover, fold-back lid, or separate shipping container for convenient shipment of the unit in its entirety.
5 . The living grass pet toilet and continuous delivery and replacement method according to claim 4 , wherein the unit has no reusable components that would need periodic cleaning.
6 . The living-grass pet toilet and continuous delivery and replacement method according to claim 4 , wherein the living grass can remain alive during shipment;
wherein the vitality of the living grass is fostered during shipment by the circulation of air; and wherein the unit has one or more openings that enable air circulation in the unit in a state where the fitted cover is covering the receptacle bottom.
7 . A living-grass pet toilet unit construction and continuous delivery and replacement method, wherein one or more components of the living-grass, fully disposable pet toilet unit may be constructed in a manner and/or treated with various substance(s) and material(s) to prolong the freshness and longevity of the living grass and the structural integrity of the unit during its shipment.
8 . The living-grass pet toilet unit construction and continuous delivery and replacement method according to claim 7 , wherein the unit may be constructed in a manner so that an absorbent(s) and/or a supporting structure(s) may be placed under the living grass.
9 . The living-grass pet toilet unit construction and continuous delivery and replacement method according to claim 7 , wherein the unit may be constructed in a manner to incorporate the use of a substance(s) and/or a material(s), during or following the unit's construction, to control moisture in the pet toilet unit during its shipment.
10 . The living-grass pet toilet unit construction and continuous delivery and replacement method according to claim 7 , wherein the unit may be constructed with, lined with, coated with, treated with, infused with, sprayed with, dusted with, or layered with a substance(s) and/or a material(s), during or following its construction, to render the pet toilet unit resistant to moisture and liquid(s), during its shipment.
11 . The living-grass pet toilet unit construction and continuous delivery and replacement method according to claim 7 , wherein the unit may be constructed with, lined with, coated with, treated with, infused with, sprayed with, dusted with, or layered with a substance(s) and/or a material(s), during or following its construction, to render the pet toilet unit resistant to moisture and liquid(s) during its use as a pet waste receptacle following its delivery.
12 . The living-grass pet toilet unit construction and continuous delivery and replacement method according to claim 7 , wherein said construction and treatments may incorporate the step of having the container's cover and/or bottom receptacle constructed with, lined with, coated with, treated with, infused with, sprayed with, dusted with, or layered with a substance(s) and/or a material(s), during or following its construction.
13 . The living-grass pet toilet unit construction and continuous delivery and replacement method according to claim 7 , wherein said construction and treatments may incorporate steps to foster or create ventilation and air flow within the pet toilet unit during its shipment;
14 . The living-grass pet toilet unit construction and continuous delivery and replacement method according to claim 7 , wherein said construction and treatments may incorporate the use of a substance(s) and/or a material(s), during or following the unit's construction, to provide nutrients to the living grass in the pet toilet unit during its shipment.
15 . The living-grass pet toilet unit construction and continuous delivery and replacement method according to claim 7 , wherein said construction and treatments may incorporate the use of a substance(s) and/or a material(s), during or following the unit's construction, to maintain the fresh green color of the living grass in the pet toilet unit during its shipment.
16 . The living-grass pet toilet unit construction and continuous delivery and replacement method according to claim 7 , wherein said construction and treatments may incorporate the use of a substance(s) and/or a material(s), during or following construction of the unit, to maintain the fresh scent of the living grass in the pet toilet unit during its shipment.
17 . The living-grass pet toilet unit construction and continuous delivery and replacement method according to claim 7 , wherein such construction and treatment may incorporate the use of a substance(s) and/or a material(s), during or following the unit's construction, to prevent or mitigate the presence of bugs in the pet toilet unit during its shipment.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
