Abstract
A fan filter device with one or more fan blades substantially comprising a filter media coated or impregnated with a fluid for removing particulates, such as dust and other pollution, from airflow in a wide variety of environments. The fluid has evaporation and viscosity characteristics suitable for maintaining the filter media in a wet condition at the desired speed and temperature of operation.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 .- 20 . (canceled)
21 . A pass through fan comprising:
a plurality of fan blades, extending from a central rotating axis radially to blade ends: a frame having a central opening surrounding said blades and being proximate to said ends, so that air passing through said fan must pass through said opening, at least one of said fan blades being at least partially coated in a particulate attracting liquid attractant fluid which is of sufficient viscosity to remain on said blades during rotation, said fluid thereby attracting particulates and thereby filtering air passing through said opening.
22 . The fan of claim 21 wherein said at least some of said blades are wet.
23 . The fan of claim 21 wherein said fluid includes a reactant for reacting with gasses passing through said fan thereby preventing damaging gasses from passing therethrough.
24 . The fan of claim 21 wherein said fluid is scented.
25 . The fan of claim 21 wherein the fluid is a silicone.
26 . A pass through fan comprising:
a plurality of fan blades extending from a central rotating axis radially to blade ends: a frame having a central opening surrounding said blades and being proximate to said ends, so that air passing through said fan must pass through said opening, at least one of said fan blades being porous filter media and being impregnated with a liquid attractant which is of sufficient viscosity to remain on said blades during rotation, said fluid thereby attracting particulates and thereby filtering air passing through said opening.
27 . The fan of claim 21 wherein the filter media is porous.
28 . The fan of claim 21 wherein the filter media substantially comprises polyethylene.
29 . The fan of claim 21 wherein said fan blades are coupled to one or more fan rotor body components substantially comprising filter media.
30 . The fan of claim 21 wherein said fan blades are removable.
31 . The fan of claim 21 wherein said fan blades are at least one of recyclable, washable, disposable and replaceable.
32 . A method of filtering through fan, the fan having a plurality of fan blades extending from a central rotating axis radially to blade ends: a frame having a central opening surrounding said blades and being proximate to said ends; comprising the steps of air passing through the central opening; at least partially coating at least one of the fan blades with particulate attracting liquid attractant fluid; adapting the viscosity of the fluid to have it remain on said at least one blade during rotation, said fluid thereby attracting particulates and thereby filtering air passing through said opening.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
