Abstract

An aerodynamic arrow is provided which includes a plurality of aerodynamically designed fletching members at the rearward end of the arrow shaft and a plurality of aerodynamically designed blades at the forward end of the shaft of the arrow. The blades of the broadhead and the fletching members of the fletching impart rotational movement to the arrow as it passes through the air from the bow to a target or animal.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An aerodynamic arrow, comprising:
an elongated shaft having a forward end and a rearward end; a broadhead mounted on said forward end of said shaft which is comprised of two or more radially spaced-apart blades; each of said blades having a leading edge, a trailing edge, a first side and a second side; each of said first sides of said blades being flat between said leading edge to said trailing edge thereof; each of said second sides of said blades being cambered from said leading edge to said trailing edge thereof so as to impart rotation to the arrow as the arrow travels through the air towards a target or animal.

2 . The aerodynamic arrow of claim 1 wherein the leading edge of said second side of each of said blades has a greater thickness than the trailing edge thereof.

3 . The aerodynamic arrow of claim 1 wherein said blades are comprised of a metal material.

4 . The aerodynamic arrow of Claim I wherein said broadhead comprises three blades.

5 . The aerodynamic arrow of claim 1 wherein said leading edge of each of said blades extends outwardly and rearwardly from aid shaft.

6 . The aerodynamic arrow of claim 1 wherein said trailing edge of ach of said blades extends outwardly and forwardly from said shaft.

7 . aerodynamic arrow of claim 1 further including at least two fletching members mounted on the rearward end of said shaft in a radially spaced-apart manner.

8 . The aerodynamic arrow of claim 7 wherein each of said fletching members includes a leading edge, a trailing edge, a first side and a second side and wherein each of said first sides of said fletching members is flat and wherein each of said second sides of said fletching members is cambered between said leading edge to said trailing edge thereof so as to impart rotation to the arrow as the arrow travels through the air towards a target or animal.

9 . The aerodynamic arrow of claim 8 wherein the leading edge of each of said second sides of said fletching members has a greater thickness than the trailing edge thereof.

10 . The aerodynamic arrow of claim 7 wherein each of said fletching members is comprised of a soft rubber or plastic material.

11 . The aerodynamic arrow of claim 7 wherein three fletching members are mounted on the rearward end of said shaft.

12 . An aerodynamic arrow, comprising:
an elongated shaft having a forward end and a rearward end; a broadhead mounted on said forward end of said shaft which is comprised of two or more radially spaced-apart blades; at least two radially spaced-apart fletching members mounted on the rearward end of said shaft; each of said fletching members includes a leading edge, a trailing edge, a first side and a second side; each of said first sides of said fletching members being flat; each of said second sides of said fletching members being cambered between said leading edge to said trailing edge thereof so as to impart rotation to the arrow as the arrow travels through the air towards a target or animal.

13 . The aerodynamic arrow of claim 12 wherein the leading edge of each of said second sides of said fletching members has a greater thickness than the trailing edge thereof.

14 . The aerodynamic arrow of claim 12 wherein each of said fletching members is comprised of a soft rubber or plastic material.
