Abstract

This disclosure describes techniques for combining an image of a region defined by the user to receive stimulation therapy with an image of representation of leads which will deliver the therapy to the defined region, and importing the combined image on an implantable medical device connected to the leads that will deliver the stimulation therapy. During the process of combining the images, the user manipulates one or both of the images to combine the image such that the leads are placed for accurate therapy delivery. In some examples where more than one region is to receive stimulation therapy, each region can have a different image and/or a different set of leads associated therewith, and a combined image of each region may be produced, manipulated, and imported on the implantable medical device.

         2 . A programmer for an implantable medical device, the programmer comprising:
 a user interface configured to receive user input indicating that a first therapy delivered to a patient via a first implantable element should be cycled on and off and that a second therapy delivered in combination with the first therapy to the patient via a second implantable element should not be cycled on and off; and   a processor configured to, based on receipt of the user input, program the implantable medical device to deliver, via the first implantable element, the first therapy to be cycled on and off and to program the implantable medical device to deliver, in combination with the first therapy, via the second implantable element, the second therapy to not be cycled on and off.   
     
     
         3 . A method for programming an implantable medical device, the method comprising:
 receiving, via a user interface of an external device, user input indicating that a first therapy delivered to a patient via a first implantable element should be cycled on and off and that a second therapy delivered in combination with the first therapy to the patient via a second implantable element should not be cycled on and off; and   programming the implantable medical device to deliver, via the first implantable element, the first therapy to be cycled on and off and to program the implantable medical device to deliver, in combination with the first therapy, via the second implantable element, the second therapy to not be cycled on and off, wherein at least one of the receiving and programming is performed via at least one processor.   
     
     
         4 . An implantable medical device comprising:
 a first implantable element configured to deliver a first therapy to a patient;   a second implantable element configured to deliver a second therapy to the patient in combination with the first therapy; and   a processor configured to receive instructions from a programmer indicating that the first therapy delivered to the patient via the first implantable element should be cycled on and off and that the second therapy delivered in combination with the first therapy to the patient via the second implantable element should not be cycled on and off, and control the implantable medical device to deliver, via the first implantable element, the first therapy to be cycled on and off and to deliver, in combination with the first therapy, via the second implantable element, the second therapy to not be cycled on and off.
