Abstract
A sub basket configured to receive tangs upon which the subs are installed. The sub basket having support members that engaged the tangs and secure them to the sub basket. The support members securable via at least one of a handle latch, a door and a pin latch locking the door closed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A sub basket assembly, comprising:
a bottom portion having tang receiving fixtures; a support member attached to a top portion of the sub basket such that the support member is adjustable into an open and a closed position, the support member having a tang receiving aperture; a tang configured to receive a sub, the tang having a base portion configured to mate with the tang receiving fixture and a top portion configured to mate with the tang receiving aperture when the support member is in the closed position such that the tang is secured to the sub basket.
2 . The sub basket assembly of claim 1 , wherein the tang includes an elongated pin portion and a cap.
3 . The sub basket assembly of claim 2 , wherein the sub includes a top portion, a bottom portion and a central bore the sub attachable to the tang by passing the elongated pin through the central bore until the bottom portion of the sub rests upon the base portion of the tang.
4 . The sub basket assembly of claim 1 , further comprising handle latches attached to a top portion of the sub basket such that the handle latches engage the support members.
5 . The sub basket assembly of claim 4 , wherein the support members have a plurality of handle latch receiving apertures.
6 . The sub basket assembly of claim 4 , further comprising a compression spring connected to the handle latch, the compression spring configured to hold the handle latch in an engaged position until a load is applied.
7 . The sub basket assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a door connected to a frame end of the sub basket such that the door moves between a closed and an open position.
8 . The sub basket assembly of claim 7 , wherein the door, when moved to a closed position, prevents the support member from being moved.
9 . The sub basket assembly of claim 7 , further comprising a pin latch fixed to the door such that the pin latch engages the frame end and locks the door closed.
10 . The sub basket assembly of claim 9 , further comprising a second compression spring connected to the pin latch, the second compression spring configured to hold the pin latch engaged to the frame end until a load is a applied.
11 . The sub basket assembly of claim 10 , further comprising a movable latch door configured to prevent the pin of the pin latch from being disengaged from the frame end until the movable latch door is first opened and the pin of the pin latch is repositioned.
12 . A method, comprising:
installing a sub on a tang; placing the tang substantially vertically in a sub basket having tang receiving fixtures spaced on a bottom portion of the sub basket; moving a support member connected to a top portion of the sub basket such that the support member receives a top portion of the tang; locking the support member in a closed position such that the tang is secured to the sub basket.
13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising engaging a handle latch such that the handle latch locks the support member in a fixed position.
14 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising further securing the support member in the closed position by placing a door member in a closed position.
15 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising locking the door member closed by latching the door member to a frame end of the sub basket.
16 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the tang has a base portion, an elongated pin extending upwards from the base portion, and a cap.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the elongated pin of the tang is threaded.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the cap has a threaded central bore configured to be threaded upon the elongated pin of the tang, the sub secured to the tang between the cap and the base portion.
19 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising: a replaceable receiving surface attached to the base portion of the tang.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
