Abstract

The present invention is directed to a system and method for raising financing and/or revenue by artist for a project, where the project may be a creative work of the artist. The method including registering, by at least one artist, with a centralized database, at least one or more projects, offering, by the at least one artist, an entitlement related to the artist in exchange for capital for the project of the artist. The method and system may also include searching, by an interested party, the centralized database, for the least one artist, registering, by the interested party, with the centralized database and accepting the offer by the interested party for the entitlement related to the project. The capital may then be forwarded to the artist and the entitlement provided to the interested party.

         69 . A method for fan funding a creative work, the method being executed on a computer system including at least one processor, the method comprising:
 providing, by said at least one processor, a web-based application accessible by a project creator to provide data for presenting at least one project to at least one Fan or Patron, the web-based application
 receiving, by said at least one processor, a request from a project creator to establish an account; 
 establishing, by said at least one processor, the requested account; 
 receiving, by said at least one processor, data from the project creator including a description of a proposed creative work and identifying a predefined level of funding associated with a preorder of the creative work and a funding goal; 
 making accessible, by said at least one processor, at least a portion of the data received from the project creator to a Fan or Patron, the accessible portion of data received from the project creator including the description of the proposed creative work and identifying said predetermined level of funding for the preorder of the creative work; and 
 receiving, by said at least one processor, data from a Fan or Patron for a preorder of the creative work at said predetermined level of funding. 
   
     
     
         70 . The method of  claim 69 , wherein the web-based application permits, by said at least one processor, the project creator to view or generate reports via the account, relating to the funding of the creative work. 
     
     
         71 . The method of  claim 70 , wherein the reports viewed or generated include financial information. 
     
     
         72 . The method of  claim 69 , wherein when the funding goal is reached, the creative work is completed. 
     
     
         73 . The method of  claim 69 , wherein the preorder of the creative work does not include a transfer of intellectual property rights in the creative work. 
     
     
         74 . The method of  claim 69 , wherein the Fan is a consumer, an admirer, a follower, a mentor, or any other individual. 
     
     
         75 . The method of  claim 69 , further comprising storing, via a memory, data regarding Patrons. 
     
     
         76 . The method of  claim 75 , further comprising providing, by said at least one processor, marketing data regarding the Patrons and corresponding projects and entitlements. 
     
     
         77 . The method of  claim 69 , wherein said creative work is a service. 
     
     
         78 . The method of  claim 77 , wherein the service is a tour performance by an Artist. 
     
     
         79 . The method of  claim 78 , wherein the preorder corresponding to said service comprises at least one ticket to the tour performance. 
     
     
         80 . The method of  claim 69 , wherein the Fan is a consumer, an admirer, a follower, a mentor, or any other individual. 
     
     
         81 . The method of  claim 69 , wherein the project creator is an Artist. 
     
     
         82 . The method of  claim 81 , wherein the Artist is an individual or an entity. 
     
     
         83 . The method of  claim 82 , further comprising tracking, by said at least one processor, pledged funds to date versus said funding goal. 
     
     
         84 . The method of  claim 69 , further comprising providing, by said at least one processor, a web-based application by which a user can predict the likely success of said creative work based on the preorders of the creative work. 
     
     
         85 . The method of  claim 84 , further comprising providing, by said at least one processor, a web-based application by which a user can reduce risk of investment in said creative work. 
     
     
         86 . The method of  claim 69 , wherein a Fan comprises an individual who views said accessible portion of data, and
 wherein a Patron comprises a Fan that preorders a creative work.

The method of  claim 69 , wherein the web-based application is further configured to register the Fan or Patron, store contact information regarding the Fan or Patron, and manage communications from said project creator to at least registered Fan or Patron regarding sales and marketing of an additional creative work. 
     
     
         88 . The method of  claim 69 , wherein the web-based application is further configured to
 receive, by said at least one processor, a request from a second project creator to establish a second account;   establish, by said at least one processor, the requested second account;   receive, by said at least one processor, data from the second project creator including a description of a proposed second creative work and identifying a second predefined level of funding associated with a preorder of the second creative work and a funding goal;   make accessible, by said at least one processor, at least a portion of the data received from the second project creator to a Fan or Patron, the accessible portion of data received from the second project creator including the description of the proposed second creative work and identifying said second predetermined level of funding for the preorder of the second creative work; and   receiving, by said at least one processor, data from a Fan or Patron for a preorder of the second creative work at said second predetermined level of funding.
