Abstract

A ballistic resistant and explosive protective system for an aircraft. The ballistic resistant and explosive system includes a first composite panel. The first composite panel includes a first layer and second layer formed of a fiber-reinforced plastic material, and a ballistic resistant laminate core layer formed between the first layer and the second layer. The first composite panel is configured to be installed at an interior of the aircraft.

1 . A ballistic resistant and explosive protective system for an aircraft, comprising:
 a first composite panel, comprising:
 a first layer and second layer formed of a fiber-reinforced plastic material; and 
 a ballistic resistant laminate core layer formed between the first layer and the second layer, 
   wherein the first composite panel is configured to be installed at an interior of the aircraft.   
     
     
         2 . The ballistic resistant and explosive protective system of  claim 1 , wherein the first composite panel is configured to be integrally combined with a second composite panel. 
     
     
         3 . The ballistic resistant and explosive protective system of  claim 1 , wherein the first composite panel further comprises:
 a honeycomb layer formed between at least one of the ballistic resistant laminate core layer and the first layer, and the ballistic resistant laminate core layer and the second layer.   
     
     
         4 . The ballistic resistant and explosive protective system of  claim 1 , wherein the first composite panel further comprises:
 a third layer formed of the fiber-reinforced plastic material and adjacent to the first layer or the second layer.   
     
     
         5 . The ballistic resistant and explosive protective system of  claim 1 , wherein the interior of the aircraft comprises at least one of interior sidewalls, ceiling panels, floor boards, doors, bulkheads, and cargo compartment lining. 
     
     
         6 . The ballistic resistant and explosive protective system of  claim 1 , wherein the first composite panel is formed of a flame penetration resistant material. 
     
     
         7 . A ballistic resistant and explosive protective system for an aircraft, comprising:
 a plurality of composite panels, each composite panel comprising:
 a first layer and second layer formed of a fiber-reinforced plastic material, and 
 a ballistic resistant laminate core layer formed between the first layer and the second layer, 
   wherein the composite panels are integrally combined and installed at an interior of the aircraft.   
     
     
         8 . The ballistic resistant and explosive protective system of  claim 7 , wherein each composite panel further comprises:
 a honeycomb layer formed between at least one of the ballistic resistant laminate core layer and the first layer, and the ballistic resistant laminate core layer and the second layer.   
     
     
         9 . The ballistic resistant and explosive protective system of  claim 7 , wherein each composite panel further comprises:
 a third layer formed of the fiber-reinforced plastic material and adjacent to the first layer or the second layer.   
     
     
         10 . The ballistic resistant and explosive protective system of  claim 7 , wherein the interior of the aircraft comprises at least one of interior sidewalls, ceiling panels, floor boards, doors, bulkheads, and cargo compartment lining. 
     
     
         11 . The ballistic resistant and explosive protective system of  claim 7 , wherein the composite panels are formed of flame penetration resistant material. 
     
     
         12 . The ballistic resistant and explosive protective system of  claim 7 , wherein each composite panel is replaceable. 
     
     
         13 . A ballistic resistant and explosive protective system for an aircraft, comprising:
 a plurality of composite panels, each composite panel comprising:
 a first layer and second layer formed of a fiber-reinforced plastic material; and 
 a ballistic resistant laminate core layer formed between the first layer and the second layer, 
   wherein the composite panels are integrally combined and installed at an interior of the aircraft,   wherein the interior of the aircraft comprises at least one of interior sidewalls, ceiling panels, floor boards, doors, bulkheads, and cargo compartment lining.
