Abstract
The present invention relates to crystalline forms and hydrates of 2-Amino-2-[2-(4-C 2-20 -alkyl-phenyl)ethyl]propane-1,3-diol, and to the use thereof, in particular in the treatment or prevention of various autoimmune conditions.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A crystalline hydrochloride salt of 2-amino-2-(2-(4-octylphenyl)ethyl)-propane-1,3-diol (FTY720), wherein the salt is in a crystalline form (Form I) characterized by an X-ray powder diffraction pattern with peaks at about 3.8, 7.1, 10.7, 12.5,15.4 and 20.8 degrees 2-theta.
2 . A crystalline hydrochloride salt of 2-amino-2-(2-(4-octylphenyl)ethyl)-propane-1,3-diol (FTY720), wherein the salt is in a crystalline form (Form II) characterized by an X-ray powder diffraction pattern with peaks at about 3.5, 6.9, 10.4, 14.8, 19.2, 20.3 and 20.9 degrees 2-theta.
3 . A crystalline hydrochloride salt of 2-amino-2-(2-(4-octylphenyl)ethyl)-propane-1,3-diol (FTY720), wherein the salt is in a crystalline form (Form III) characterized by an X-ray powder diffraction pattern with peaks at about 3.5, 6.9, 10.3, 14.4, 18.9, 20.3, 20.7 and 24.2 degrees 2-theta.
4 . A crystalline hydrochloride salt of 2-amino-2-(2-(4-octylphenyl)ethyl)propane-1,3-diol (FTY720), wherein the salt is substantially in the form of a hydrate.
5 . A method for the treatment or prevention of organ or tissue transplant rejection, autoimmune diseases or inflammatory conditions in a patient, which comprises administering a therapeutically effective amount of a salt of claim 1 .
6 . A method for the treatment or prevention of organ or tissue transplant rejection, autoimmune diseases or inflammatory conditions in a patient, which comprises administering a therapeutically effective amount of a hydrate of the hydrochloride salt of 2-amino-2-(2-(4-octylphenyl)ethyl)propane-1,3-diol (FTY720) in crystalline form, wherein said crystalline hydrate is characterized by an X-ray powder diffraction pattern with peaks at about 2.9, 17.2, 30.8, 28.2, 24.4, 8.6 and 25.9 degrees 2-theta.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
