Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for preventing or ameliorating a sleep-related breathing disorder. The method involves the use of one or a combination of cholecystokinin (CCK) receptor antagonists.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method for preventing or ameliorating a sleep-related breathing disorder comprising administering an effective amount of at least one cholecystokinin (CCK) receptor antagonist to a subject in need of treatment thereby preventing or ameliorating the subject's sleep-related breathing disorder. 
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising administering at least one other sleep-related breathing disorder therapeutic agent.
