Abstract

A watercraft includes a hull and a water diverter. The water diverter comprises at least one first deflector configured to direct water upward and outward from the hull of the watercraft to create a wave. The water diverter may include a support structure in the shape of a hollow tube for the first deflector, and a second deflector positioned above the first deflector. An entanglement system for defending watercraft includes a main cable attached to the watercraft and at least one strand section. Each strand section includes a connector and a plurality of strands attached to the connector, and each strand section is attached to the main cable. A defense system for watercraft can include both a water diverter and an entanglement system.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An entanglement system for defending watercraft, comprising:
a main cable configured to be attached to a first watercraft; and a plurality of strand sections, wherein each strand section includes a connector and a plurality of strands attached to the connector, wherein each strand of a strand section has a first end attached to the connector and extends outward from the connector to a second end that is unconstrained, wherein the connectors of the strand sections are attached to the main cable at locations spaced from one another along the main cable, wherein the main cable and strand section are configured to be deployed into water surrounding the first watercraft to ensnare a propeller of a second watercraft, and wherein the connector is configured to break under a predetermined load to allow the strand section to separate from the main cable.

2 . The entanglement system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of strands comprise strands of a variety of lengths.

3 . The entanglement system of claim 1 , wherein the strands comprise polypropylene rope.

4 . The entanglement system of claim 1 , wherein at least one strand section includes a tracking device.

5 . The entanglement system of claim 4 , wherein the tracking device is an RFID chip.
