Abstract
Disclosed herein are tools for repairing articular surfaces repair materials and for repairing an articular surface. The surgical tools are designed to be customizable or highly selectable by patient to increase the speed, accuracy and simplicity of performing total or partial arthroplasty.

1 . A surgical instrument system for repairing a joint of a patient, comprising:
a patient-specific mold having a surface configured, based at least in part on image data of the joint of the patient, to rest on a portion of the joint of the patient, wherein the portion is a portion of an articular surface of the joint or a surface portion external to the articular surface of the joint, and one or more components configured to connect to the mold, wherein the one or more components are standard components.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more standard components include a standard surgical cut block.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more standard components include one or more generic spacers or connectors.
