Abstract
A swing exercising apparatus comprising a movable weight component for moving along an elongated member when the user swings the swing exercising apparatus, with a biasing mechanism for exerting a force biasing the movable weight component towards one position when the movable weight component is located away from that position. The biasing mechanism comprising at least one elastic element to generate the force, and an attachment portion to attach the elastic element(s) allowing the user to detach the one or more elastic elements to adjust the force.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A swing exercising apparatus comprising:
a handle for grasping by a user; an elongated member having a distal end; a movable weight component for moving along the elongated member between a first position and a second position when the user swings the swing exercising apparatus, the movable weight component being closer to the distal end in the second position than in the first position; and a biasing mechanism for exerting a force biasing the movable weight component towards the first position when the movable weight component is located away from the first position along the elongated member, the biasing mechanism comprising:
at least one elastic element to generate the force; and
an attachment portion to attach the at least one elastic element, the attachment portion allowing the user to detach any of the at least one elastic element to adjust the force.
2 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , the at least one elastic element comprising a plurality of elastic elements.
3 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 2 , the elastic elements surrounding the elongated member.
4 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , the at least one elastic element comprising an elastomeric tube.
5 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 4 , the elastomeric tube being a latex tube.
6 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , the at least one elastic element comprising a spring.
7 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , the at least one elastic element comprising an elastic band or a bungee cord.
8 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , the attachment portion comprising, for a given elastic element of the at least one elastic element, a fixed attachment point and a movable attachment point to which the given elastic element is attached, the fixed attachment point remaining stationary relative to the elongated member when the movable weight component moves along the elongated member, the movable attachment point moving along the elongated member when the movable weight component moves along the elongated member.
9 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 8 , comprising a position adjustor to adjust a position of the fixed attachment point relative to the elongated member.
10 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , the attachment portion comprising, for a given elastic element of the at least one elastic element, an aperture receiving an end portion of the given elastic element and allowing the user to remove the given elastic element from of the aperture.
11 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 10 , the aperture being defined by a grommet.
12 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , the attachment portion comprising, for a given elastic element of the at least one elastic element, a clip operable in a closed position in which the clip holds the given elastic element and an open position allowing the user to remove the given elastic element from the clip.
13 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , the attachment portion comprising, for a given elastic element of the at least one elastic element, a structural part on which the given elastic element is looped.
14 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , the movable weight component comprising a weight loading section allowing at least one weight element to be loaded or removed from the movable weight component to adjust a total weight of the movable weight component.
15 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , comprising a position adjustor to adjust the first position of the movable weight component along the elongated member.
16 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , comprising a static weight attachment portion including at least one static weight attachment point along the elongated member at which at least one static weight is attachable.
17 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , the elongated member having an outer side, the movable weight component being mounted on the outer side of the elongated member.
18 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 17 , the biasing mechanism being located on the outer side of the elongated member.
19 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , the elongated member defining an interior space, the movable weight component being located in the interior space of the elongated member.
20 . A swing exercising apparatus as claimed in claim 19 , the biasing mechanism being located in the interior space of the elongated member.
