Abstract
A database interface for developing at least one media play is disclosed. The database interface for developing at least one media play includes a plurality of templates, generated in accordance with feedback prior ones of the at least one media plays, at least two desired criteria limiting circumstances for play of the media play received at one of said templates, and an accessor that accesses media play inventory and preempts certain of the media play inventory with an insertion of the media play according to said at least two desired criteria.

13 . A system for developing at least one media play in a broadcast medium broadcast to a plurality of receivers, comprising:
a displayer that displays a plurality of templates that enable a user to select at least two desired criteria limiting circumstances for media play, said criteria evaluated based on feedback from a plurality of members of an audience regarding prior occurrences of the at least one media plays; and an accessor that develops at least one media play by accessing a media play inventory and preempting certain of the media play inventory with an insertion of the at least one media play according to said at least two desired criteria, the insertion of the at least one media play being broadcast to the plurality of receivers in a real time broadcast, wherein the preempting comprises evaluating said at least two desired criteria using information determined by monitoring the real time broadcast.
14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the at least two desired criteria limiting circumstances comprise at least one of environmental conditions, searched-for terms, prior media plays, and subsequently scheduled media plays.
15 . The system of claim 13 , wherein each of said templates is selectable in accordance with at least one desired result of the media play.
16 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the media play inventory comprises a radio station play list.
17 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the media play comprises advertising.
18 . The system of claim 13 , wherein one of the at least two desired criteria limiting circumstances is a number representative of the real time broadcast's current audience size.
19 . A computer-implemented method performed by a data processing system for searching audio media plays in a database that have been publicly broadcast, the method comprising:
accessing the audio media plays that were recorded as publicly broadcast, wherein the audio media plays are stored in the database, and each audio media play being at least a portion of a show; providing, in the database, for an association of each of the audio media plays with header information describing the audio media play, wherein the header information includes at least two key descriptors that define the description, and wherein at least one of the at least two key descriptors is a term used in the audio media play; receiving an entry via an interface of the database, the entry including at least a key descriptor to locate an audio media play; and in response to receiving the entry, searching through the associations in the database for an audio media play with header information that includes the key descriptor.
20 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising converting the audio media play to a text file.
21 . The method of claim 20 , wherein the conversion is automated.
22 . The method of claim 20 , further comprising locating the text file responsively to entry of the at least two key descriptors and any portion of the text file to the searching.
23 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising returning the audio media play with the header information including the key descriptor responsive to the searching.
24 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising:
locating the audio media play with the header information including the key descriptor responsive to the searching; and returning a pre-play version of the audio media play with the header information including the key descriptor.
25 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the associations comprise a relational database.
26 . A computer-implemented method for developing at least one media play in a broadcast medium broadcast to a plurality of receivers, the method comprising:
providing a plurality of templates enabling a user to select at least two desired criteria limiting circumstances for media play, said criteria evaluated based on feedback from a plurality of members of an audience regarding prior occurrences of the at least one media play; and developing at least one media play by accessing a media play inventory for preempting certain of the media play inventory with an insertion of the media play according to said at least two desired criteria, the insertion of the at least one media play being broadcast to the plurality of receivers in a real time broadcast, wherein the preempting comprises evaluating said at least two desired criteria using information determined by monitoring the real time broadcast.
27 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the at least two desired criteria limiting circumstances comprise at least one of environmental conditions, searched-for terms, prior media plays, and subsequently scheduled media plays.
28 . The method of claim 26 , wherein each of said templates is selectable in accordance with at least one desired result of the media play.
29 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the media play inventory comprises a radio station play list.
30 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the media play comprises advertising.
31 . The method of claim 26 , wherein one of the at least two desired criteria limiting circumstances is a number representative of the real time broadcast's current audience size.
32 . A system for searching audio media plays that have been publicly broadcast, the system comprising:
a device configured to access the audio media plays that were recorded as publicly broadcast, wherein the audio media plays are stored in a database, and each audio media play being at least a portion of a show; a device configured to provide, in the database, for an association of each of the audio media plays with header information describing the audio media play, wherein the header information includes at least two key descriptors that define the description, and wherein at least one of the at least two key descriptors is a term used in the audio media play; a database search interface configured to receive an entry, the entry including at least a key descriptor to locate an audio media play; and a device configured to search, in response to receiving the entry, through the associations in the database for an audio media play with header information that includes the key descriptor.
33 . The system of claim 32 , further comprising a device capable of converting the audio media play to a text file.
34 . The system of claim 33 , wherein the conversion is automated.
35 . The system of claim 33 , further comprising a device capable of locating the text file responsively to entry of the at least two key descriptors and any portion of the text file to the searching.
36 . The system of claim 32 , wherein the device configured to search through the associations in the database is further configured to return the audio media play with the header information including the key descriptor responsive to the search.
37 . The system of claim 32 , wherein the device configured to search through the associations in the database is further configured to locate the audio media play with the header information including the key descriptor responsive to the search, and to return a pre-play version of the audio media play with the header information including the key descriptor.
38 . The system of claim 32 , wherein the associations comprise a relational database.
39 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
receiving a plurality of criteria associated with a media play; monitoring a real time broadcast; evaluating one or more of the criteria against a result of the monitoring; and selectively generating information based on a result of the evaluating to cause a preemption of the real time broadcast with the media play.
40 . The method of claim 39 , further comprising:
directing a play list of one or more radio stations, the directing comprising sending the generated information to the one or more radio stations.
41 . The method of claim 39 , wherein the generated information comprises one or more instructions to preempt a scheduled advertisement with a replacement advertisement.
42 . The method of claim 39 , wherein at least one of the criteria is a number representative of the real time broadcast's current audience size.
43 . The method of claim 39 , wherein information triggering the preemption of the real time broadcast is generated if the result of the monitoring matches the evaluated criteria.
44 . A method performed by data processing apparatus, the method comprising:
providing a plurality of templates enabling a user to select at least two criteria limiting circumstances for playing media; evaluating the selected criteria based, at least in part, on feedback from a plurality of members of an audience, the feedback corresponding to prior occurrences of at least one media play in a broadcast medium; developing a media play for preempting one or more media plays of a media play inventory based, at least in part, on the selected criteria; preempting one or more media plays of the media play inventory by inserting the developed media play, wherein inserting the developed media play is being broadcast in a real time broadcast, and wherein preempting the one or more media plays comprises evaluating the selected criteria using information determined by monitoring the real time broadcast.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
