Classification engine for dynamic e-advertisement content insertion
Abstract
A way to modify a media file to include an advertisement is described herein. A media includes, but is not limited to, broadcast television, video, or music. The content of the media is analyzed to determine an appropriate advertisement to be inserted into the media content. For example, the advertisement may be a pizza commercial inserted into media that is popular among college age individuals. The content of the media may be further analyzed to determine an appropriate position within the media to insert the advertisement. For example, the pizza commercial may be inserted after a scene in which the characters are eating. Another example may be the insertion of a dating service commercial in a movie immediately following a dating scene in the movie.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed:
1 . An apparatus comprising:
a processor; and memory coupled to the processor, the memory comprising executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to effectuate operations comprising:
creating a master digital imprint for an original media file stored in a first storage, wherein the original media file comprises an original work of art;
retrieving a copy media file from a second storage;
creating a copy digital imprint for the copy media file;
comparing the copy digital imprint with the master digital imprint;
determining a similarity level between the copy digital imprint and the master digital imprint based upon the comparison of the copy digital imprint with the master digital imprint; and
providing a notice when the similarity level is within a predetermined range of similarity levels.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the master digital imprint and the copy digital imprint are created by at least one of:
determining a plurality of positions within the media file to insert at least one of a plurality of advertisements based upon the content; classifying the content of the media file; or determining a digital overlay.
3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , the operations further comprising:
determining a position within the copy media file, wherein a portion of the copy digital imprint corresponds to the position within the copy media file; correlating the position determined within the copy media file with a position within the master media file; and extracting the master digital imprint corresponding to the correlated position.
4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , the operations further comprising determining a percentage of similarity between the copy digital imprint and the master digital imprint.
5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the copy digital imprint comprises a first total of a plurality of first identifiers and the master digital imprint comprises a second total of a plurality of second identifiers.
6 . The apparatus of claim 5 , the operations further comprising:
adding the first total with the second total to determine an overall total; determining a common total, wherein the common total is a value comprising a number of the first identifiers and a number of the plurality in common between the plurality of first identifiers and the plurality of second identifiers; and determining, based on the common total and the overall total, the percentage of similarity between the copy digital imprint and the master digital imprint.
7 . The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein an identifier is indicative of an insertion point for an advertisement.
8 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the notice comprises a notice of potential copyright infringement.
9 . A method comprising:
creating a master digital imprint for an original media file stored in a first storage, wherein the original media file comprises an original work of art; retrieving a copy media file from a second storage; creating a copy digital imprint for the copy media file; comparing the copy digital imprint with the master digital imprint; determining a similarity level between the copy digital imprint and the master digital imprint based upon the comparison of the copy digital imprint with the master digital imprint; and providing a notice of when the similarity level is within a predetermined range of similarity levels.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the master digital imprint and the copy digital imprint are created by at least one of:
determining a plurality of positions within the media file to insert at least one of a plurality of advertisements based upon the content; classifying the content of the media file; or determining a digital overlay.
11 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:
determining a position within the copy media file, wherein a portion of the copy digital imprint corresponds to the position within the copy media file; correlating the position determined within the copy media file with a position within the master media file; and extracting the master digital imprint corresponding to the correlated position.
12 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising determining a percentage of similarity between the copy digital imprint and the master digital imprint.
13 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the copy digital imprint comprises a first total of a plurality of first identifiers and the master digital imprint comprises a second total of a plurality of second identifiers.
14 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising:
adding the first total with the second total to determine an overall total; determining a common total, wherein the common total is a value comprising a number of the first identifiers and a number of the plurality in common between the plurality of first identifiers and the plurality of second identifiers; and determining, based on the common total and the overall total, the percentage of similarity between the copy digital imprint and the master digital imprint.
15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein an identifier is indicative of an insertion point for an advertisement.
16 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the notice comprises a notice of potential copyright infringement.
17 . An apparatus comprising:
a processor; and memory coupled to the processor, the memory comprising executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to effectuate operations comprising:
retrieving a media file responsive to a request for the media, wherein the media file is a copy of at least a portion of a master media file;
creating a copy digital imprint of the media file, wherein the copy digital imprint comprises an indication of positions within the media file to insert at least one of a plurality of advertisements based upon content of the media file;
comparing, via a processor, the copy digital imprint with a master digital imprint, wherein the master digital imprint comprises an indication of positions within the master media file to insert at least one of a plurality of advertisements based upon content of the master media file;
determining, via the processor, a level of similarity between the indication of positions to insert at least one of a plurality of advertisements within the copy digital imprint and the indication of positions to insert at least one of a plurality of advertisements within the master digital imprint; and
approving the transmission of the media file when the determined level of similarity is within a pre-determined range of levels of similarity.
18 . The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the master digital imprint and the copy digital imprint are created by classifying the content of the media file.
19 . The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the master digital imprint comprises a geometric overlay and the copy digital imprint comprises a geometric overlay.
20 . The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the level of similarity between the copy digital imprint and the master digital imprint is based on insertion points at which to place advertisements in the copy media file and the master media file.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
