         29 . The computer-implemented method of claim 28 , wherein the first component of the payment pair is a non-monetary component and the second component of the payment pair is a monetary component.

         30 . The computer-implemented method of claim 28 , wherein the first component of the payment pair is a monetary component and the second component of the payment pair is a non-monetary component.

         31 . The computer-implemented method of claim 29 , wherein the currency value of the non-monetary component dynamically changes with a value of the monetary component.

         32 . The computer-implemented method of claim 29 , further comprising presenting, by the user's computer system, to the user a continuum of the monetary component and the non-monetary component.

         33 . The computer-implemented method of claim 28 , wherein the currency value varies depending upon a member status associated with the user.

         34 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 28 , further comprising:
 responsive to transmitting the selection of the item to be purchased, receiving, by the user's computer system, a request to modify the first component from the server if it is determined that an account associated with the first component has an insufficient balance.

         35 . A system comprising:
 a communication network; and a user's computing device that is coupled to the communication network and configured to:
 receive a selection of an item for purchase as an input from a user;
 transmit the selection of the item to a server;
 responsive to transmitting the selection of the item, receive a request from the server to input a first component of a payment pair;
 prompt the user to input the first component of the payment pair;
 receive the first component of the payment pair from the user;
 transmit the first component of the payment pair to the server;
 receive, from the server, the payment pair comprising the first component of the payment pair and a second component of the payment pair, wherein the second component of the payment pair is calculated based on a value of the item, the first component of the payment pair, and a currency value;
 present the payment pair and an option to reject or accept the payment pair to the user;
 receive a selection to reject the payment pair from the user;
 transmit the selection to reject the payment pair to the server;
 receive from the server a request for a modified first component of the payment pair;
 receive the modified first component of the payment pair from the user;
 transmit the modified first component of the payment pair to the server;
 responsive to modifying the first component, receive from the server a modified payment pair comprising the modified first component of the payment pair and a modified second component of the payment pair, wherein the modified second component of the payment pair is calculated based on the value of the item, the modified first component of the payment pair, and the currency value; and
 present the modified payment pair to the user.

         36 . The system of claim 35 , wherein the user's computing device is further configured to:
 receive from the server, in response to the transmission of the selection of the item, a request to modify the first component if it is determined that an account associated with the first component has an insufficient balance.

         37 . The system of claim 35 , wherein the first component of the payment pair is a non-monetary component and the second component of the payment pair is a monetary component.

         38 . The system of claim 35 , wherein the first component of the payment pair is a monetary component and the second component of the payment pair is a non-monetary component.
