Weight bag assembly

Abstract

A bag assembly that includes a bag portion that includes a front wall, a back wall, a bottom wall and first and second side walls that all cooperate to define an open top and an interior, and a bladder disposed in the bag portion. The bag portion includes a first flap that extends from the back wall and a second flap that extends from the front wail.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method comprising the steps of:
 (a) providing a weight bag assembly that includes
 a bag portion that includes an open top, an interior, a first flap and a connection member, and 
 a bladder disposed in the bag portion, 
   (b) filling the bag portion with a solid substance and/or filling the bladder with liquid,   (c) folding the first flap over the open top, and   (d) connecting an item to be weighted down to the connection member.   
     
     
         2 . The method of claim I wherein the bag portion includes a front wall, a back wall, a bottom wall and first and second side walls, wherein the first flap extends from the back wall and the front wall includes an orifice defined therein, wherein the bladder includes a main body portion and a spout that extends through the orifice in the front wall. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2  wherein step (c) includes folding the first flap over the spout and securing the first flap to the front wall. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3  wherein the bag portion includes a second flap extending from the front wall, and wherein the method further comprises the step of folding the second flap over the bladder. 
     
     
         5 . A bag assembly comprising:
 a bag portion that includes a front wall, a back wall, a bottom wall and first and second side walls that all cooperate to define an open top and an interior, wherein the bag portion includes a first flap that extends from the back wall and a second flap that extends from the front wall, and   a bladder disposed in the bag portion.   
     
     
         6 . The bag assembly of  claim 5  wherein the bladder includes a main body portion and a spout, and wherein the bag portion includes an orifice defined therein through which the spout extends. 
     
     
         7 . The bag assembly of  claim 6  wherein the orifice is defined in the front wall of the bag portion. 
     
     
         8 . The bag assembly of  claim 7  wherein the first flap and the front wall include mating closure members thereon, and wherein the first flap extends over and covers the spout when the first flap is secured to the front wall. 
     
     
         9 . The bag assembly of  claim 8  wherein at least one of the front, back, bottom or first and second side walls includes a connection member thereon. 
     
     
         10 . The bag assembly of  claim 9  wherein the connection member is secured to the back wall. 
     
     
         11 . The bag assembly of  claim 10  wherein the connection member is a ring. 
     
     
         12 . The bag assembly of  claim 11  wherein the bag portion includes at least one handle secured thereto. 
     
     
         13 . The bag assembly of  claim 5  wherein the bag further comprises a solid substance and/or a liquid. 
     
     
         14 . An inflatable system comprising:
 an inflatable structure, and   at least one weight bag connected thereto, the weight bag comprising
 a bag portion that includes a front wall, a back wall, a bottom wall and first and second side walls that all cooperate to define an open top and an interior, wherein the bag portion includes a first flap that extends from the back wall and a second flap that extends from the front wall, and 
 a bladder disposed in the bag portion. 
   
     
     
         15 . The inflatable system of  claim 14  wherein the bladder includes a main body portion and a spout, and wherein the bag portion includes an orifice defined therein through which the spout extends. 
     
     
         16 . The inflatable system of  claim 15  wherein the orifice is defined in the front wall of the bag portion. 
     
     
         17 . The inflatable system of  claim 16  wherein the first flap and the front wall include mating closure members thereon, and wherein the first flap extends over and covers the spout when the first flap is secured to the front wall. 
     
     
         18 . The inflatable system of  claim 17  wherein at least one of the front, back, bottom or first and second side walls includes a connection member thereon. 
     
     
         19 . The inflatable system of  claim 18  wherein the connection member is secured to the back wall and the inflatable structure is connected thereto. 
     
     
         20 . The inflatable system of  claim 14  wherein the bag further comprises a solid substance and/or a liquid.
