Abstract

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for connecting an interactive wearable device with a network. In one aspect, a method includes loading content from a playlist; recognizing contextual information relating to the content; determining the location of the user; requesting supplemental content via a network based on the contextual information and the location; displaying supplemental information to a user; interacting with the supplemental information at least in part via an interactive headphone.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A computer implemented method of remote access to a hosted application comprises the steps of:
 recording a user input from a sensor on a remote device;   associating the recorded user input with a specific command;   storing the command-input association;   receiving a user input on a sensor on a remote device;   transmitting the user input from the remote device to a base device;   receiving at the base device the user input transmitted from the remote device;   comparing the input with the previously recorded inputs for association with a command specific to an application running on or accessible by the base device;   matching the user input to the desired command; and   executing the command.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1  wherein execution of the command initiates network functionality allowing user interaction with content available over a network. 
     
     
         3 . A method comprising:
 recording a first physical input using a sensor positioned on a remote device;   translating the first physical input to a computer recognizable command;   sending the command to a base device;   executing the command on the base device.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3  wherein the remote device is a headphone. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4  wherein the input is made via a touch pad or touch sensor. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 3  wherein the base device comprises a smart phone, mobile phone, cellular phone, mobile device, tablet computer, laptop computer, mp3 player, desktop computer, e-book reader, video game console, or a networked display. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 3  wherein the execution of the command creates information relating to content on the base station, such information available to other users over a network. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the command comprises instructions to interact with a social media website or a content distribution website. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 3 , further comprising recording one or more second user inputs on the sensor, associating the one or more second user inputs with one or more user-specified commands, and retaining the recordings of one or more second user inputs and the associated user-specified commands in a data store. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 3 , further comprising comparing the first physical input to the one or more the second user inputs, and basing the translation of the first physical input to a computer recognizable command based upon the comparison. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the sensor is a capacitive touch sensor. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the wireless means is a Bluetooth network. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the physical input is the actuation of a button or switch. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the user input is motion detected input, a touch sensor input, or an audio input. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the user input is an audio input and the audio input is compared to a library for translation to different languages; and   wherein the executed command broadcasts a translated input to a network.   
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 15  wherein the network comprises a second user headphone. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the input is an audio input and the input is compared to an audio file library to determine the accuracy of the audio input to a standard. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 17  wherein the audio input is a linguistic phrase and the linguistic phrase is compared to a standard to determine accuracy of pronunciation. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the user input indicates a preference for content by the user and the command executed broadcasts the preference over a network. 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 19  further comprising:
 matching multiple user preferences broadcast over a network using the method of  claim 1 ; and 
 allowing communication between matched users.
