Method and Device for Merchandising Hair Accessory

Abstract

A display device for merchandising hair accessories is provided. The display device includes a first set of hair accessories and a second set of hair accessories. Each hair accessory of the first set of hair accessories is of a different accessory type and has a first color. Each hair accessory of the first set is provided with packaging that includes a first colored area indicative of a hair color of a user that best matches the first color. Each hair accessory of the second set of hair accessories is of a different accessory type and has a second color different from the first color. Each hair accessory of the second set is provided with packaging that includes a second colored area indicative of a hair color of a user that best matches the second color.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A display device for merchandising hair accessories, the display device comprising:
 a first set of hair accessories each being of a different accessory type and having a first color, each hair accessory of the first set being provided with packaging that includes a first colored area indicative of a hair color of a user that best matches the first color; and   a second set of hair accessories each being of a different accessory type and having a second color different from the first color, each hair accessory of the second set being provided with packaging that includes a second colored area indicative of a hair color of a user that best matches the second color.   
     
     
         2 . The display device of  claim 1 , wherein the packaging of each hair accessory of the first set further includes a first backing coupled to the respective hair accessory of the first set, and wherein the packaging of each hair accessory of the second set further includes a second backing coupled to the respective hair accessory of the second set. 
     
     
         3 . The display device of  claim 2 , wherein each first backing has a color that corresponds to the first colored area, and wherein each second backing has a color that corresponds to the second colored area. 
     
     
         4 . The display device of  claim 2 , wherein each first backing includes the first colored area and each second backing includes the second colored area. 
     
     
         5 . The display device of  claim 2 , wherein each first backing has a color that matches the first color and each second backing has a color that matches the second color. 
     
     
         6 . The display device of  claim 1 , wherein the first and second sets of hair accessories each comprise two or more of bands, barrettes, clips, combs, curlers, pins, and scarves. 
     
     
         7 . The display device of  claim 1 , wherein the first colored area has a color that matches the first color and the second colored area has a color that matches the second color. 
     
     
         8 . The display device of  claim 1 , wherein the first color is a first shade of a particular hair color and the second color is a second shade of the particular hair color, the second shade being different from the first shade. 
     
     
         9 . The display device of  claim 1 , wherein one or more hair accessories of the first and second sets includes one or more streaks of an additional color. 
     
     
         10 . The display device of  claim 1 , further comprising a third set of hair accessories each being of a different accessory type and having a third color different from the first and second colors, each hair accessory of the third set being provided with packaging that includes a third colored area indicative of a hair color of a user that best matches the third color. 
     
     
         11 . A method of merchandising hair accessories, the method comprising:
 providing a first set of hair accessories each being of a different accessory type and having a first color matched to a first hair color of a user;   providing a second set of hair accessories each being of a different accessory type and having a second color matched to a second hair color of a user, the second color and the second hair color being different from the first color and the second hair color, respectively;   packaging the first set of hair accessories, the packaging including attaching a first backing to each hair accessory of the first set, each first backing having a color that corresponds to the first color;   packaging the second set of hair accessories, the packaging including attaching a second backing to each hair accessory of the second set, each second backing having a color that corresponds to the second color; and   displaying the packaged first and second sets of hair accessories via a display device.   
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein each first backing has the same color and each second backing has the same color. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the step of packaging the first set of hair accessories further includes providing a first colored area on each first backing, the colored area corresponding to the first hair color of the user, and wherein the step of packing the second set of hair accessories further includes providing a second colored area on each first backing, the colored area corresponding to the second hair color of the user. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the first and second sets of hair accessories each comprise barrettes, pins, elastics, and clips. 
     
     
         15 . A system for merchandising hair holding accessories, the system comprising:
 first packaging for a first hair holding accessory, the first hair holding accessory being of a first type of hair holding accessory and having a first color, the first packaging including a first backing attached to the first hair holding accessory, the first backing including a first colored area indicative of a hair color of a user that best matches the first color;   second packaging for a second hair holding accessory, the second hair holding accessory being of the first type of hair holding accessory and having a second color different from the first color, the second packing including a second backing attached to the second hair holding accessory, the second backing including a second colored area indicative of a hair color of a user that best matches the second color; and   third packaging for a third hair holding accessory, the third hair holding accessory being of a second type of hair accessory different from the first type and having the first or second color, the third packaging including a third backing attached to the third hair holding accessory, the third backing including a third colored area indicative of the hair color of the user that best matches the first or second color.   
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the first backing has a color that corresponds to the first color, the second backing has a color that corresponds to the second color, and the third backing has a color that corresponds to the first or second color. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein first backing has a color that matches the first color, the second backing has a color that matches the second color, and the third backing has a color that matches the first or second color. 
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the first type of hair holding accessory is one of a plurality of hair holding accessories comprising a band, barrette, clip, comb, curler, and pin, and wherein the second type of hair holding accessory is a different one of the plurality of hair holding accessories. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the first color is a first shade of a particular hair color and the second color is a second shade of the particular hair color, the second shade being different from the first shade. 
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the first hair holding accessory, the second hair holding accessory, or the third hair holding accessory includes one or more streaks of an additional color.
