Abstract

The present invention relates to the treatment of disorders using anti-progestational agents. More specifically, the present invention relates to the treatment of disorders using low doses of anti-progestational agents. Compared to dosages and lengths of treatment taught by the prior art, the described methods, dosing regimens and medications use effective dosages and lengths of treatment that are lower and/or shorter than previously thought possible.

         67 . A method for reducing uterine volume, which method comprises administering to a patient in need thereof, an effective amount of 17α-acetoxy-11β-[4-N,N-dimethylamino-phenyl)-19-norpregna-4,9-diene-3,20-dione (ulipristal) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 
     
     
         68 . The method of  claim 67 , wherein the patient is administered a tablet comprising ulipristal or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 
     
     
         69 . The method of  claim 67 , wherein the patient is administered a daily dosage of 5 to 15 mg ulipristal or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 
     
     
         70 . The method of  claim 68 , wherein the patient is administered a daily dosage of 10 mg ulipristal or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 
     
     
         71 . The method of  claim 67 , wherein the patient is administered ulipristal acetate. 
     
     
         72 . The method of  claim 67 , wherein the patient is administered an oral dosage of ulipristal or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof during a period of about 2 to about 4 months. 
     
     
         73 . The method of  claim 71 , which is repeated once a year. 
     
     
         74 . The method of  claim 67 , wherein the patient is administered ulipristal or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof before undergoing surgery of the uterus.
